Hello! I am Ciernit. I have purchased my first bike and it is a project. Buell has been on my mind for a long time as the bike I wanted. So when an opportunity even as a decent sized project fell in my lap I turned on the idea. I now own a 2001 Buell Blast. Heard all the shannanigans about every thought on whether to own this bike or not but it was a Buell and that's what I wanted. So i am a beginner rider with a bike that will take me the winter season to establish as a safe ride and a legal ride. I'm excited and dont feel at all doubt that I will be ready for the spring riding seasonal legal and safe to hit the rode. So I am looking forward to reading everyone's input and suggestions on how to accomplish my task and maybe along the way something I run into will help someone else. |

Hello Everyone! Just acquired a 2007 XB12Ss. It's got a few issues but I'll be working on putting this Baby into the sort of shape that I want. I really wish that I'd bought one way back when Buell was still in business. I don't yet have an owners manual so I hope that here is an acceptable place to ask a question about the bike... In the area where the odometer, trip meters and time is displayed what does the "F 0.0" mean? Thank You, RonLee

The F counter on the dashboard is distance ridden since the low fuel light came on. It will auto reset to zero after several minutes of the fuel light not being on. |

Thank You Froggy! Now I know more. Just today I had the flyscreen off and was shocked to find that one or another of the previous owners had done some... uh modifications to the wiring. Two pairs of relatively large gauge red wires and black wires that were simply cut. Time to get the multimeter out and check where the other ends are. Also discovered the exhaust servo missing from the airbox. I'm really not pleased about the substandard "work" that had been done but perhaps I can make it better. |

This is the only place I can actually post since getting verified on here is more difficult than getting into fort knox. My 09 blast is nothing but trouble. POS won't even start and barely has any miles on it. Turns over but won't ignite. Changed the plug and same story. Seen light on the control module when attempting to crank then other times it isn't there. Is it pretty much the control module? Any help would be appreciated before I take this yellow heap of junk to the dumpster. |

Ricketyrick-The knowledge vault or the blast section should be helpful. It was for my wife's Blast. When you get it figured out it is a great ride. One must be patient. |

About 6 weeks ago I bought a 2009 Blast, it had 1200 KM on it, I just clicked over the 5000KM mark and that rear Pirelli is worn out. I'm over 70, so you know it isn't from doing burnouts. I guess the crappy tires on the F1 cars are just typical Pirelli tires. Anyone have a suggestion on what size and make give more mileage? One other thing that turn signal switch is terrible and the whole technology of the bike isn't much better than my old first bike a 1963 Ducati 250, except for the brakes, they are very nice, one finger braking. |

New P3 Blast owner...had an EX500 Kawasaki, and found this $500 Blast local. So now I'm a 2 bike guy. Have switched out the trans and main oil since it's been sitting since 2006 with only 1200 miles. (Divorced wife bike = sat in carport.) Put in a battery and it came to life electrically.... I'm going to put some Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinder while I check the plug, and I've already swapped out the petcock and will have fresh gas in it. Basically a NOS bike. Hopefully there won't be many gremlins. I'll be in the Blast forum, lurking. Cheers, ~Ted in NC |

Hey everyone, just bought my 2010 Buell Blast this weekend, only 2600 miles and paid $800 for it. Unfortunately I hadn't realized before buying it that some genius screwed the primary adjuster all the way in, so the tensioner, guide, and spring are shredded, so I got those coming. Other than that just needs new tires and a carb clean and shell be good to go. Won't idle at all, but runs if you keep the throttle up, and tires are OE. This is my first bike that isn't a Ninja, but from my little test ride I think it will be a fun commuter bike. I'll post some pics when I put it back together. |

Welcome to Badweb. I’ll bet you find the Blast to be a well......BLAST ! I was one of the original test riders when the Blast was under development and it’s an amazing machine .... bringing unusual handling, brakes and vehicle dynamics to a small, confidence inspiring motorcycle. You’ll find tons of helpful information and tips that will help you maintain and enjoy your Buell. Good find and welcome aboard. Court |

Picking up an 1125R tomorrow. Pretty stoked as I test rode one twice back in 2008 and just didn't bite. Then life happened I guess and I went 12 years without a bike. Tomorrow my soul may again be whole! It's 2008 with 26k on it but no pipe or ECM, all stock. Looks like the clutch has been swapped for REV B and didn't see and weeping. Took it for a spin yesterday and it seems to run smooth while cruising at a few speeds and RPMs. Pretty new tires, new belt, fresh oil. Has receipts for nearly all the services. Mostly used to commute 1.5hrs on highway. Some cosmetics I'll address but overall I'm happy with it. |

Hi peoples, I'm from New Zealand. Brought my first Buell 4 years ago, a 2003 XB9R Firebolt an awesome bike but the riding position caused me some pain and suffering and my age would admit to it.....so I bought a 2004 XB12s. Now Happiness reigns again. P.S. I kept the firebolt, just , cos, well, she was my first. |

Hey, just got my login approved, I’m a proud owner of a 2008 xb12r. Unfortunately off the road after last ride due to blown belt - awaiting delivery of two new ones from USA - can you believe I paid over $200 just for freight!!! (Also got a new belt guard, but still ... $$$)

For that price you could probably buy chain conversion kit with freight and forget about the belt forever. |

I know, right? I’m a rare sucker who wants to keep the bike “stock”, whilst overlooking the Jardine exhaust, cylinder air box breather line delete, catch can, race ecu, etc. |

Hello. I am a thrilled owner of a 2004 XB9S. It's my 5th in a line of fun bikes, including CT70, FJ1200, FXRP, MV Agusta Brutale 910S, BMW R1200R. It's also my favorite. Getting it back to healthy again since it had some fastener defects and "upgrades." Love your forum and appreciate the helpful tips. Left front fork is leaking, so that's next on my list. Keep the rubber side down!
