I bought some "steel cased junk" in 9mm and .223. My VP9 runs steel case like it was made for it and all of my ARs run it without problem. It's just a little dirty and stinky.
All but forty rounds of my 7.62x54R is steel cased corrosive. That's fine, too...as long as the cleaning is not skimped on.
My current everyday carry gun is a Glock 26 in a triple "T" holster. I really like this gun. It shoots well is more accurate than I am and just doesn't fail. Still, I'd like a .45 option. My Officer's ACP is a great gun but just a bit to heavy to carry every day.
I'm looking at either a Glock 30 or a Glock 30S. The only real difference between the two is the 30S is about 3 1/2 ounces less which would make it a bit more snappy but easier to carry.
Does anyone have any experience with either of these guns? Opinion? Prejudges?
I'm with R.D. on the XD-s. My edc is an XD-s in 9mm and I carry it everywhere. Slacks, jeans, shorts and a tee. No printing, no weight problems, plenty accurate and only mildly (and very predictably and controllably) snappy. Good grip (I have the O.G. model with checkered grip and interchangeable backstrap), even with my big mitts.
I'm sure the 45 will be snappier, but the chassis and grip will be the same and I'm sure it will be just as easy to control.
I was looking to stay in the Glock family because I am familiar with Glock. Very little to no training issues during the transition.
I have to admit I kind of like the idea of a XD though I don't know a lot about them. They have a good rep though so maybe I'll see if I can find one to actually look at. Most gun stores around there (Phoenix area) have mostly empty shelves.
The trigger pull is reduced to 2lbs flat with minimal takeup/overtravel and it no longer has the pesky loaded chamber indicator and poorly integrated mag safety. The mags drop free now.
A good watch. They do touch, in the beginning, on some of the things they did wrong ("...and anyone can give us tips on guns...") like the crappy muzzle awareness and trigger discipline shown in the video...but overall, they're right.
The Left wants to criminalize our ability to defend ourselves and our own homes.
We have to stand up for our rights - not only at the ballot box, but also in our own front yards.

My brother went to pick up a gun he ordered and had shipped to Arkansas. After he filled out the paperwork, the dealer called in the background check. He got off the phone and told my brother the okay has been delayed. The background check people have seven days to okay or deny my brother. The dealer said it's happening to everyone. That it's because of the riots. 3.9 Million First time gun purchasers last month alone. They are doing deeper background checks according to said dealer.
