Mayhap some of our elected officials should take note...
Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American … There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag … We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
Hootowl, I was just discussing that same thing the other day. When they decided to charge the officers with 2nd degree murder, no doubt to appease the masses, they just screwed themselves. After RD had posted the results of the autopsy I knew that the officers did not crush his airway nor did they do any harm to his neck. By raising the charges and with the autopsy results they have a much harder case to prove. In fact the autopsy pretty much lets the officers off the hook for murder. In the end I totally agree, they will walk and we will see riots all over again!
''History Does Not Repeat Itself, But It Rhymes.''
Whoever ever said that was correct. We see the rhyming of history unfolding itself, the Left demands kneeling before their false idols and false gods. There is nothing new under the sun.
If you don’t believe me, read the news. Trust me, if you have the moral courage to connect the dots, what you’ll discover is that all these racist cops find work in police departments run by Democrat mayors, all these hate crimes happen in Democrat-run cities or left-wing universities, all the racial tension is in Democrat-run cities, all the racial despair is located in Democrat-run cities, all the blackface is worn by Democrats and left-wing celebrities, all the race riots break out in Democrat-run cities, and all the bigots losing their jobs due to their bigotry either work in the left-wing media or the far-left Silicon Valley.
A black family moved in just down the street, & my first & so far only interaction has been to rescue their dog, that had escaped the invisible fence, & had to be carried back over the border, after I had loosened and rotated the shock collar so the stupid thing wouldn't get shocked.
Oh, I've waved as I drove by, & got no response, but this is exurbia. Standoffish is an understatement. They wave back now.
I only talk to my neighbors to my south when I bring Their dog back. Doesn't bother me if they want solitude. I do warn them If I plan to shoot fireworks, so they can keep the dog in. Courtesy & stand off can coexist.
The neighbors to my north have 3 kids and we chat from time to time when mowing or doing yard work. I warn them about fireworks, so the kids can watch.
Are any of my neighbors racist? How would I know? The closest I've come to discussing the news is asking the kids if they're ready to go back to school. ( from 50 feet while pulling my bike out of the shed ) "No!" was the chorus. I laughed.
I've also asked my neighbors to come see me if they have a problem. Loud music etc. & I'll fix it. Or if a coyote comes after a dog or kid. Happy to help.
I don't blast music much, but from time to time I do spar with friends, and full contact armored fighting isn't quiet. So far, no mention.
Of course, they could just be terrified to interact with the crazy neighbor, and most have seen me in uniform so the myth might be intimidating, but mostly no one cares.
The pandemic, in other words, has helped the Party weaponize civil society and stop the growth of independent voices and groups.
By contrast, in America, the pandemic has renewed the tradition of mutual aid, from neighbors helping isolated seniors to nonprofits helping struggling restaurants to feed health-care workers and those suffering from “food insecurity.” Americans take it for granted that such efforts arise independent of government and are laudable. The pandemic has served as an important reminder of the independence and vitality of American civil society, with its multitudinous institutions, including new ones that have formed in response to Covid-19.
It’s a reminder, too, that socialism—with central planning in its DNA—will inevitably view civil society as a threat. Indeed, in Resilience, an American democratic-socialist journal, Russel Arben Fox has acknowledged as much. “We serve socialism poorly by failing to recognize how much of the opposition of conservative people, rural people, and most particularly church-going people to democratic socialism is the result of the sense that there would be no space under the socialist order for their communities and traditions,” Fox wrote. He raises a disturbing question: “Given that many of those traditional beliefs and local practices are inegalitarian or exclusionary, why should we take their fears seriously?”
Even framing the question that way reveals all one needs to know about socialism or Communism. If anyone needs further information, Beijing is providing it.
Just because Alinsky wrote the book on lying your way to power, doesn't mean you can't use the teaching to win. You don't not study Sun Tsu because he was a monarchist. If you're U.S. armored soldier you study Gudarian & Rommel, despite the evil of the regime they served.
Even Mao, the greatest mass murdering pervert of all time, is worth study, if only to learn to recognize his tactics when used against you.
Traditionally, in war, like fights like. Ships shoot ships. Tanks shoot tanks. But the real force multiplier is matching strength to weakness.
Tanks scare infantry. Planes scare tanks. In one of the most one sided sniper duels in history, a British unit in Normandy as D-day progressed into France, a German sniper was a threat, so they called for help. It came in the form of 15" naval gunfire from a battleship off the beaches. .32" vs. 15" ...
That's how you Win.
Read Alinsky, then turn his way against the Enemies of man's freedoms.
