Quick sanity check... How much "credit" is on the gas card that Buell is currently providing to new Buell purchasers? It was my understanding from my dealer that it was worth $250 but when I finally got around to checking the balance on my card today, it only showed an opening balance of $150. Whazzup with that? Yeah...Gas for a Year. Might work here in Wisconsin where you only have about 13 weekends a year to ride due to the crappy climate. LMAO |

Yeah - I checked out the website and saw the $150 figure. I have no problem with that. My concern is that my dealer had told me $250. Oh well, it's still a nice bonus and you're not limited to buying gas. WYD |

What kind of idiot would think that $150 would last a year? I'd go through that in 2 to 4 weeks. |

Well even at 2.50 per gallon thats 60 gallons for free. 60x 50 mpg YMMV = 3000 miles Keep in mind that when they came up with this idea gas was about 1.75 per gallon so it would have been over 85 gallons of gas. 85x50 MPG = 4250 miles I think that pretty much cover "most" riders. The only "idiot" is the guy at the dealership that told him it was for 250.00 Ride to the edge! Dave daves@h-dappleton.com |

Too Funny! However, a few local dealers abbreviated the name of the gas card promo and it could be interpreted as a years free fuel. I can only assume Buell meant that you were entitled to $150 worth of fuel during a specified period of time. |

I still think it's pretty close to an average years worth of fuel. No matter who makes offers like these it's never a "how much fuel can you possibly use" in a year. , I go thru about 90.00 just to go home to see my wife if I take my truck. I wish my Expedition would've come with free fuel, how much can you use, for a year! Anyhoo, any way you look at it it's 150.00 you don't have to spend out of your own pocket. Good deal to me. However, a few local dealers abbreviated the name of the gas card promo and it could be interpreted as a years free fuel. Exactly! There were stickers on the showroom bikes that said something to the effect of "Buell will fill it up for a year". Again, I'm just paraphrasing but there was no dollar limit specified and the salesman never even mentioned it until I asked him what the deal was. At that point, he said it was a $250 debit card. Again, no big deal - I'll take $150 over nothing any day but I'm glad I checked the ECount website before I hit the $150 limit. WYD |

Daves...Wasn't complaining about the deal, just a little perceived confusion at the local level. Advertising and Sales Promotion is both an art and a science that has been a major part of my 35+ year career. For what it's worth, some get it right and some get too enamored with themselves and confuse the issue. Glitch and Chainsaw are two examples here on the BWB of folks that get it right and I would contract either one or both of them without hesitation. |
