Please copy and paste some random chapter or Leviticus that, in your mind, proves me wrong, and steers pagans further away from the gospel. When Paul spoke to crowds, he had a few different tactics. When he spoke to Jews, who knew the Book, he used the Book as though it was something they should revere. When he spoke to Romans, he cited Roman law and custom. And when he spoke to random gentiles, he made thought-provoking common sense. You're not a robot. Neither is anyone else. Maybe these verses are the crux of the argument but the point is entirely lost because no apparent effort is given to link the verses together. FWIW a review of his much earlier posts indicate his grammar is normally weird. These posts were much less controversial though, and needed no detailed explanation. One problem with quoting scripture is evil men do so too. Not saying anyone here is. But Gay Mayor Pete likes to "discuss religion" with the intent to show how enlightened he is, and how horrible his enemies are. And someone can try to show how something is bad with quotes, like gay sex, with another using the same quotes to show how primitive and authoritarian their enemies are. | ||

I prefer KJV, but I don't believe it's the only Word of God (what blasphemy! you say). How are folks in China supposed to read the KJV? I have a side-by-side KJV/Chinese "heheben" which was translated from the English Revised Version (which was the KJV put into modern 19th century lingo). Although my Chinese isn't very good and I have to cross-reference the Chinese dictionary a lot, I like to see the differences between the two. I don't count them as disagreeing with eachother. I believe the Chinese adds depth to the English. Genesis 1:1-2 translated from the "heheben" into English would go something like, "Originally, God created heaven and earth. The earth had no form, (and was) primordial chaos. God's spirit moved on the water's surface". I actually like that better than the KJV  Just for the "Primordial Chaos" portion | ||

Or as soon as it became nostalgic, as in signs saying Ye Olde Tavern. I think there were 2 different Ye's. One meant, "all of you to whom I'm talking (or writing) The other meant "the". If it only mean a plural "you", then nostalgic signs would say, "Thine Old Tavern". Some say that the difference between "ye" and "thee" helps clarify to whom the bible is speaking. I believe there are cases where that proves not to be true. In Chinese, you have 4 different words for "you". ni is just for you singular nimen is for all of you women is for us zanmen is for everyone who can hear me speaking/writing, to definitely include myself. The KJV version of the Bible is the language we speak frozen at a certain time. The written word is like that. Shakespeare, is another example. Beowulf another, different times. Aside from content, you can learn the common tongue, as spoken by a particular demographic of the day, in each of the above. The KJV Bible is meant to be understandable to the rich, well educated, and the common peasants, illiterate or not. ( when read to, a!oud ) With, perhaps, a bit of "old fashioned flavor" while still being accessible. Shakespeare was criticized for using too much of the vulgar common tongue by jerk critics of the day. Yeah, the PC crud has been around a while. I'll skip, here, the question of translation errors vs. The belief in the Divine hand editing out error. Not relevant to a political discussion. Of some importance in a theological debate. One lesson to be learned is it you tried to communicate with the language of the KJV or Shakespeare, others would consider you pretentious and/or weird. ( ditto any non common patois ) That's normal. And condemned for racism and hate speech by the Left today. That's deliberate mind control. A political movement that worships the creation of Man in the Holy State, is intolerant to reminders of truths of the past.
