It almost sounds as if Portland's insanely blue government is attempting to deputize the private sector to take on some of the city's abundant homeless population in a bid to reduce stress on public spaces. But it also meshes with the idea of driving productive taxpayers out, those nasty capitalists the wokesters dislike so intensely. Already 34% of Portlanders want to leave the city based on the problems of homelessness.
If the crazed measure goes through, count on more Portlanders fleeing the city. With unintended consequences set to roll, this should serve as a textbook case to other cities of what not to do.
Or...depending on the "woke-ness" of the governments involved...it could be EXACTLY what they want to have happen.
"Albany lawmakers have nothing better to do than make everything from plastic bags to large sodas illegal in New York (except tearing full-term babies to pieces.) "
It's inevitable now that there will be challenges to the vote results in Federal elections where hundreds of thousands of foreign citizens vote.
Will this change the Electoral college vote from N.Y. Next November? Highly doubtful, N.Y. will vote for Hillary, again. ( or whoever the Party chooses, Michelle, perhaps ) but a legal challenge to those votes?

Good point, and my apologies. Living alone and having a house to rebuild before it breaks me, means today is (logistically, anyway) "just a day off" where I need to keep busy and productive - gotta get these renovations finished!
I was raised Catholic, and truly understand the meaning of Christmas. Sorry to bring anyone down on such a wonderful day.

A family of four making 60k per year pays zero federal tax. How are the rich stealing money from the poor? The poor don’t have anything to steal.
Reagan’s theory, and Trumps, is if business does well, the employees of those businesses will do well. A rising tide lifts all boats. Jobs lift people out of poverty. Government handouts do not.
I don’t know where you live, but most of America is booming. There are more open positions than there are people on unemployment.
Actually, I don’t know what universe you live in. It sure sounds bleak.

Also, Reaganomics happened in the 80s. We had 16 years of democrats in the white house since then, 8 of them under a narcissist with aspirations of communism. Not exactly a recipe for success. I sincerely hope the Trump economy finds you soon.
