Insulted China's National Honor? No Honor in the truly insulted dictator. Insult their Government, yes, That the Senate did.
War with China is inevitable, unless we just allow Taiwan to be invaded, ignore the mass murder certain to follow, and abandon the Pacific nations and our captured in war & purchased territories. Otherwise, inevitable.
Not sure if we can keep Hawaii. It's probably safe for a few years. Japan though... They are basically abandoning the Post WW2 anti military policy in the face of Chinese aggression. It's a hard sell for their own people. Maybe the Godzilla films are an attitude changer?
Japan would suffer bad if/when China takes over there. The Bad Blood from WW2 is not forgotten, & they've been at war for over a thousand years.
From Tootal I've heard this from him several times and wonder if it's not, at least, part true. I remember learning about the Fabian Socialist in England. Their banner shows a globe hanging over a fire as they try to soften it so they can mold it into what they want it to look like. I believe they still exist
Yep. England is scary close to lost to leftism.
I strongly recommend reading their operating manual.
In America, it's an easy pick. Saul Alinsky, Rules For Radicals. Hillary did her Senior Thesis on it. ( not a bad paper, evil, but well written ) It's the book that opened my eyes.
You can read Das Kapital, or Engles, ( more intelligent ) or other classics. But they are written usually in the language of economic theory and social philosophy. Obscure and tail chasing "I'm so clever" crap mostly stolen & twisted from previous scholars. Not, by all means, useless, but it's religious stuff and best understood in context to Adam Smith and Jefferson and other real thinkers. Kant, Hume, etc.
But "Rules" is the real world tactical manual. You can read or watch Orwell's Animal Farm & 1984 for the results of the tactics, in fiction & parable. Rules is the booklet given out in boot camp. Where to dig a fox hole, what a L shape ambush is, the difference between cover and concealment...
It's not that the billionaire you work for is a Jew that bothers people. It's that sending other Jews to death camps was the greatest time of his life, according to the billionaire Nazi you work for.
I suppose the good news is that a girl won a girl's wrestling competition, and not a boy "wanting to be a girl".
The not surprising, or bad, news, is the Texas sports organization involved needs to rethink some rules. That happens all the time, when people find loopholes that let them win "unfairly".

This is a big country, so I suppose there are a few opportunists that are willing to, at a minimum, cross-dress to win a ribbon. Beyond that step, it takes a real commitment or unhealthy self-hate.
This is really a Capitalist advertisement in the form of a rant against greedy hateful explotive leftists. It's a legitimate and accurate rant!
On a twistedly related note.
One of the funniest, and I'll bet most on the nose, scenes in science fiction movies, comes from Demolition Man. ( not the 3 sea shells bit, which reminds me to put a small shelf with same in my bathroom ) It's the radio station that plays the oldies.
Xi has sent his storm troopers/SS/Gestapo to the area plus armored troops of the PLA. ( the Tiananmen square massacre troops ) The Epoch Times had it's presses set on fire by government thugs with batons and flammable liquid. While people were working there. Arson & attempted first degree murder by U.S. Law, aka business as usual by the most murderous thugs on Earth.
"Throughout time our people robbed, lied, and killed, until one day we found ourselves, nobleman. But that nobility never came from chivalry. It came from being tough, and ruthless." ( King's Man teaser trailer )
“I think it signifies that we have an entire class of government workers across the country that are primarily interested in dramatically expanding their own power,”
Some pundits have joked about the number of murderers with the middle name Earl. As in "if you want to make sure your kid goes to prison..."
James Earl Carter is directly responsible for the Iranian Islamic Revolution. Most of the casualties in Iraq, U.S. & civilian. Hamas. Hezbollah, AQ, ISIS. Pick a hell sponsored by the mullahs, and the refugees around the world. How many millions have suffered & been brutally enslaved & murdered?
Maybe the pundits have something...
If course it's not all Jimmy's fault. He's had help from every lefty in Congress that hates our Constitution and thinks she can benefit from supporting Iran against the civilized world.
Imagine a world where Obama didn't run weapons to Mexican gangs and Syrian rebels, but sent them to Iranian subjects.
I'm biased against the murderous theocracy ruling Iran. Partly because I'm biased against theocrats, who often use the excuse that God told them to whatever, and the lack of caring about the will of the people in the belief they do the Will of God. Saddam was a thug, but he at least pretended to be a man of the people and feared their wrath. The Ayatollahs lack that pretense.
And because I missed being a hostage by less than 2 weeks, as they stormed the U.S. Embassy the week before I flew there to teach machine shop at what would have been the best paying job I'd ever had. I freely admit that influences me.
Yeah, that was long ago in a world far away, and that's how long the people of Iran ( and every expatriate I've met was nice folk ) have suffered under the rule of madmen.
They cannot be brought to justice soon enough. But I fear thousands more will be murdered in the streets first. The mullahs love to use snipers to randomly murder women to maintain their reign of terror, domestically.
Politics and being a serviceman. At first I was on a base with Iranians, then in a camp without Iranians, and next on a base with the marines that went to the Iranians desert. It was all OK with me. I didn't meet any Iranians that I liked. One day you are supposed to be nicey nice. The next day you are allowed to kill them. What an interesting world I have seen. Next thing you know, we don't like Iraq either. From my personal experience we never liked them. Then someone asked me, "You want to teach people how to use Stingers?" It was all a blur back then. I'm heading to an airport in Vegas with a passport and a suitcase with civies heading to Saudi when they turn my bus around because there is sniper fire at the hotel I am supposed to be staying at in Saudi. I was supposed to just look like a tourist. I was to young to not be upset. Man, I was going on an adventure. So, I get a B prize. I hate B prizes. There I am in full Chemical warfare gear. Rubber booties taped to charcoal lined pants taped to a charcoal lined jacket taped to rubber gloves with a gas mask and a hood strapped to my head and shoulders. What are we doing? Running in place in the Mohave Dessert in between shooting courses of fire with M-16s. Gathering data for the people that calculate wars. Did I say I hate B prizes. Next thing I know I get called to be on an Air Force rifle and pistol team. I can sign out weapons from the armory, Vehicles from the motor pool, All the free gas and ammo I want, and free access to the range. The range parties were amazing. I learned to shoot man size silhouettes at 1100 meters with steel sights. Did reloading drills nonstop with 38 wad cutters till you would think we were using speed loaders. Then when we are supposed to go to our first match, a security problem comes up, and I work 30 days in a row non-stop right through the dates of the match. Next thing I know I'm door gunner in a Huey with a messed up mission. Ask me sometime around the campfire and I'll tell you a story. I did get to fire 700 40mm rounds in one day. I always thought I was a true patriot American. Anymore, I'm not sure I what that means?
I grew up on Call of the Wild, Huck Finn, ( anything by Mark Twain ) and around 4th grade discovered Heinlein, ( Boys Life ) British naval novels, and by 6th grade the first bootleg of Lord of the Rings was out in paperback. ( I bought the authorized edition when it came out ) By the time Clancy wrote Hunt for Red October, he was popcorn to me.
True, I was reading "at a 6th grade level" by 4th grade, and had burned through every book in the libraries that had a ringed planet on the binding by jr. High. But it was the real adult stuff I was into by then.
HMS Marlborough Will Enter Harbour by Monsarrat was one. By an author who captained a sub chaser, in the war, it put you there, and you felt the cold.
I don't agree with the author of the linked editorial on one thing, though. Yes, it's important to have male protagonists but a well crafted female hero is just fine. The Telzey Amberdon stories by James H. Schmitz had a telepathic hero, who just happens to be a girl. Podkayne of Mars and Dejah Thoris were young women of extraordinary worth.
No, it's bad fiction that's the problem. It doesn't matter if the hero is a girl, boy, or lesbian supervillain. It has to be a character that's real to you, and a story that involves you. ( kindle's free try this selections got me to read 2 young lesbian super villain books.... Not bad, but I'm not the target audience. But I read fast and will read anything if I'm stuck in a waiting room )
Nobody trenches fiber to support cameras. Mesh networks are fast, cheap, and reliable. The author seems to think this very common infrastructure decision is a sign of the apocalypse. Nope.
Not a sign of the apocalypse, a sign of cheapness. ( I assume he makes money on trenching )
It's a Daily Mail story, so I'd have to ask a local how much better or worse than tabloid it is.
I do recall the National Enquirer did a good job on the Clinton sex scandal when he was in office. The Globe has all the "Elvis, Bigfoot, and Princess Diana are living in Bill Gate's basement" stories.
There used to be a difference between Tabloid and real newspapers. It's nigh impossible to tell today. I may respect the Enquirer more than the Washington Post.
The New York Times has broken excellent stories on how many troops were hurt by poison gas in Iraq, after a decade of saying they didn't exist. Put that together with a history of lying about literally millions being murdered to protect the Soviets and tell me how it's better than bird cage lining.
