Dave, you still around? I’ve used the Buelltooth I bought from you on most of my Buells for one thing or another, but I have an ECM on an XB9R race bike that will not connect. I’m beginning to wonder if it is a true race ECM, and not a tweaked stocker. I tried contacting IdS about it about a year ago, and they told me it was an EBR part, not one of theirs. I haven’t tried calling or emailing EBR Tech in quite a while, so I don’t know what the situation is there. Any thoughts? This is the beast that bit me last June, and put me in the hospital for almost three weeks. The engine bogged as I was deep in a curve and attempting to accelerate out. I instinctively grabbed more throttle, and it all came on at once, and I bounced off the concrete and into the weeds...or vice versa. I have another ECM that came with the bike, that looks like a typical tweaked tune. I’m going to install it and see if it will connect to ECMDroid with the Buelltooth. If not, my White Lightning came with an adapter cable and ECM Spy. (The XB9R came with a cable and ECM Spy disc, but the cable has a broken wire...discovered after much aggravation) |

I contacted Buelltooth, and was told what I already knew, that if it is a true race ECM, they operate at a higher baud rate than the Buelltooth is set for... I have a new laptop battery coming Friday. I’ll try the hard wire and the disc the previous owner gave me for it. Maybe I can figure it out that way. I tried that before, and couldn’t get connected. The previous owner and the Harley/Buell dealer that used to service the bike couldn’t get it to connect either. It had a broken wire in the adapter cable... |
