I have an NOS Airbox assy I bought some years ago for my '97 S1. I want to list this unit on ebay or sell it here, but I don't know what it fits (i'm not even sure it fits my old 97 S1. The P/N is 29361-96Y. Anyone know the fitment for this P/N?

Off hand, I think it is good for all Tube Frame Models up to 1998. Anyone else concur?

That is for the S1. Will not work on an S3 unless it has the S1 carburetor mount.
It is also slightly smaller than the S3 box.

I use this S1 airbox on my S3 with the race exhaust. The stock S3 airbox was about 1/8" from the exhaust pipe. the S1 airbox is about 1/2" above the race exhaust pipe.

Thanks. I notice at the website below it seems to indicate it fits 1996 S1. But I would think it would fit all S1s. Is that right?

I dug through some S1 catalogs (1996, 1996-97, 1998) and per the catalogs (which are sometimes not 100% accuarate) 29361-96Y was a 1996 only part number.
The parts were not offered in a “cover assembly” for 1997 or 1998, but the base backplate part number, and the cover part number (along with many internal components) - both changed for 1997 and again in 1998.
The front motor/isolator mount changed from requiring a metal bracket between the mount and the airbox (1996) to an extended right arm which attached to directly to the airbox (1997-98).
The carb support changed in 1997 and 1998 but I believe that it was material thickness, coating changes, and from a “hook” to a hole for the rear breather bolt. The hole pattern for the carb and the breather holes should have stayed the same.
From that information,,,, although the -96Y airbox assembly might bolt up (at least to the carb face and heads) on most carb models — the front airbox-to-iso mount might not work, and the internal components of the -96Y airbox will not interchange with other model years.
Again, this based on catalog data.

Nice Screamer!
I might add:
* My S1 airbox, which is mounted on an S3, cover and back plate are made of fiberglass. I believe these are 1996 parts because, all model body parts before the 1997 model year were made of fiberglass.
* The front airbox-to-iso mount lines up just fine to the 1997 S3 front motor mount.
* Looked again, I was mis-remembering the spacing of the airbox to the race exhaust. Stock S3 airbox cover was touching the front race exhaust pipe. The S1 airbox cover is 1/4" above the front exhaust pipe not 1/2" above as previously stated.
* The S1 airbox is slightly smaller all around than the S3 airbox.
