Has anybody ever had this happen ?? I think this is an absolute NO NO for a muffler of this price range. The muffler was damaged by the baffle inside and the carbon had that nice hole in it, first i thought i ran over something but upon removal it became clear this was not done from the outside, i will send some of them pics to V & H and see what they say ... I can easily drill open the rivets and remove the nice carbon kevlar piece and replace it with a stainless piece and make a new perforated piece and repack it, but making a new carbon piece ?? I doubt that would come out nice ... I will ask for a replacement of just the carbon piece, does anybody here have a friend at V&H or a contact I can write to ? the bracket had a crack in it too.... greetings from ///Munich |

i've been running the same aluminum muffler and the v&h repack kit comes with the perforated inner sleeve. mine was burnt out(perforated sleeve) at one end and laying down at angle. 10000 mile check repack is what i remember the service inst. to be. i've repaired a number of dirt bike c-f end caps with a stainless wrap and pull rivets. i put the seam where it wont be noticeable with about a 2" length of repair at the endcap. been holding up to dirt bike abuse. hopefully, v&h will replace for you. good luck tim |
