VR went out, kept riding trying to get home, engine started misfiring so I stopped. Replaced VR, voltage output ok but engine still misfiring. When ignition turned on I hear what sounds like a poof of air from the engine which will only happen one time after sitting overnight. Repeated ignition on the poof doesn't happen. Replaced spark plugs but still doesn't run right. Any ideas? |

It's a 2009 Uly, 20k miles, stock, trouble code: battery voltage low/high, new battery. |

One cylinder is probably not getting spark, but is getting fuel. When you shut the bike down some residual fuel may remain in the non-sparking cylinder. Overnight, the fuel evaporates and some vapor remains in the cylinder. At ignition on, the plug may spark and burn off the remaining fuel vapor. I had a two-stroke Suzuki that used to do the same thing. |

Thanks, that makes sense, will test spark and work backwards. I had assumed the trouble code only referred to the battery and charging system. |
