Most likely just burned out a bulb. These are the LED replacements I used. They work well, super bright. My neutral light has been flickering lately when the bike is running, it stays on fine when the bike it off, not sure if the LED just vibrated loose in the socket or what. I'll pull the strip out someday, put a little dielectric great on it and wedge it back in and see if it helps.

EDIT: guess I should include this... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/793958.html?1475035755

how did you get the lamps out of the holder?
I have tried to remove them and could not

( '01 x1 ) perhaps a change in manufacture?

As far as I know, all the tubers have the same indicator setup. If you look behind the flyscreen there are 4 little black tabs, you need to try to pull those out and wiggle the white body out. Once that's out, you should be able to wiggle the rubber housing out of the back of it to change the bulb. It's been a while since I did it. I can't remember if I pulled those out to change them, or if I used needle nose pliers to pull the bulbs straight out while they're still in the white housing. A little oil on the rubber boot might help it pull out, probably a bit of friction from the rubber.

UP I tried slender needle nose pliers cant get the lamp out, I looked at the LED link good find..

so the lamp holders pull out from the back
I was concerned I would damage the holder.

They're just rubber, so as long as yours aren't dry-rotted and cracking, nothing should get damaged. The weak spot on the whole setup is those little black tabs holding the white piece into the dash.

lights came out and went in easily however, a little rubber lube helps putting them back in.
