I was getting jealous of the HD guys in my neighborhood, so I put an LED Headlight on my M2. I ordered it from eagle lights - a 7" Generation III W/ halo. It fit inside the stock bucket with no problems, literally a 20 min install. Resulted in a cool, subtle update to the look of the bike, and significantly brighter headlight (you don't dare look this thing straight on, even in the middle of the day).   | ||

Ring is there, wiring is simple plug and play...Everything very standard.If theres an issue ,the guys at eagle lights handle it... I went a different route and didn't spend the big coin but my M2 no longer runs a 7in,which is the same as alot of Harley models Jeeps older camaros and more.... | ||

I mean I don’t think you’d go wrong with that light, brother - I do like the full “halo” mine has, though.. - Eagle Lights had been recommended to me by several folks, and it’s strongly suspected they actually make the HD Day breaker and HD just re-brands it for more money. Eagle has great customer service (not that you’ll need it) And the price for the Generation 3 has very reasonable - | ||

$36 shipped! disappointed I didn't see that before they took it off of amazon haha. I would've grabbed one. I never really ride at night to be worried about the light output, but I wouldn't mind something so worn and dated looking. | ||

Ok so after reading,watching vids and such I learned a few things. Start with ignoring the specs of these Chinese knockoffs. Its all about the beam pattern.These Chinese knock offs appear to be the same in appearance as their higher priced counterparts. That said their beam pattern is horrfic and the hot spot is in the wrong spot and such which is very important. Sure they are bright but if they don't help you see the road better they are pointless. I was wrong and I apologise! If you ride at night often don't skimp! Spend the money! Could save your life! | ||

@Mfell2112 - Eagle is made in China. As far as I've been able to figure out, the HD "Daybreaker" are re-brands of JWSpeaker products, which are, in fact, domestically manufactured. I did not know this when I did the install otherwise I would have bought the American product. Oh well. I'm very happy with the Eagle product. | ||

I too just put in that same Eagle headlight. really impressed with the brightness, and the beam pattern is pretty usable. Easy install to, I second the 20 minute job with a few basil tools (though no instructions on how to dismantle and reassemble the 'brace' holding the light, but it is pretty straight forward) I would describe the beam pattern as the bottom half of a circle, flat on the horizon, with intense spot directly in front, and good peripheral on left and right sides from the direct in front to about 10-15 feet on each side. I aimed mine slightly to the right to avoid blinding oncoming traffic. the peripheral beams are great in leaning into turns. High beam adds more light slightly above the main beam, and fuller beam pattern through the half circle, think low tree line on either side, or for highway signs overhead. If I ever figure how to post a pic on here, I'll try to do so. | ||

Super Bright LEDs has direct replacement for most all Buells. ~ No idea why anyone would order the load resistor. ~ Great advantage is, I have traveled 500 miles on battery alone with one of these LED headlights and still was able to start with the starter motor. (I have carbureted S3s.) Have been using them successfully for years. I just put a new headlight on my S1. I grabbed one of the super cheap ones from Amazon, believe it was $45 and included the bucket. Sure I could've gotten a better quality light for the price if I reused my bucket, but with the 7.5" headlight options were pretty limited. I expected the light output to be pretty crappy at that price, but I was actually amazed at the difference. It's all plastic, and even though the plug at the bulb end was the same that came on the bike, the oem plug was stuck inside the bucket, and there was no way to get it out aside from cutting up the bucket, which I didn't want to do, so I ended up cutting up both plugs and soldering them together. It was a simple job, but unfortunately wasn't plug & play. My biggest concern was putting a 7" headlight in place of the 7.5" and having a gap between the light and the flyscreen, but as you can see it's barely noticeable. The plug and headlight size aren't really an issue for the M2 since you can find 7" lights all day long. For S1/X1 guys though, if you don't mind a quick solder job, this seems like a pretty good option. I'll see how long the light lasts.   | ||
