I recall when this news came out. The idea that my house might be raided at gunpoint in the dark of night, at a time chosen to terrorize my family, because I was active in a political campaign, by the Enemy of the politician I supported, is Third World Dictator crap.
That a judge would issue a gag order, forbidding me from speaking to the press about Gestapo style State Terrorism, is beyond the pale.
In any world with Justice, that/those judge(s) should be Impeached, prosecuted, and mailed for abuse of power. The District Attorney needs to visit a prison cell involuntarily for at least as many years as some 18year old caught with a joint. ( in his District ) Capital punishment might be a bit far.
I imagine my reaction to coming home to a ransacked house with my 16 year old in the wreckage in tears after being lied to & threatened by the police sworn to uphold the Constitution.
Then being threatened with jail if I complained.
I'd like to think I'd be calling the FBI to come investigate these crimes. Telling my Congresscritters who's job it is to represent me. Call my local news, network news, and the AP.
That's the calm, brave, honest, American response I'd like to think I'd have.
But I don't recall reading that any of the Bad Men were ever indicted, arrested, or in any way inconvenienced by their illegal actions.
Sifo, I've seen that too, and I'm pretty sure it's real. I'd love to see enough people show up and explain to Antifa that we've had enough of their crap.
Keep an eye open. If you notice something odd or threatening, alert those around you, and then report it. (Alerting those around you is crucial — it's very possible that they will be the only ones who will respond. Both the Parkland and Aurora shooters were reported to authorities before their killing sprees. Both were ignored. Law enforcement is not what it used to be.)
Amen.
And if you have to go from "alert" status to "act" status, make damn sure your ass is covered before you do something drastic. All the more reason for "tell those around you". Those are known as "witnesses", and they're worth more in court when they don't start their sentence with "the first thing I heard was a shot". They carry more weight with "the defendant pointed the suspect out to us all, and we saw...."
Rat: MN law allows venues to post "Blah blah BANS GUNS on their premises" The signs have the same teeth as trespass, you are not guilty of the misdemeanor until you are verbally informed, and refuse to leave. Having said that, the Presidents rally will likely have a high level of security in its perimeter. US BANK stadium, in accordance with NFL policy, posts a gun ban sign. A lawful permit holder, (despite common sense), would not likely be carrying if they were planning to be anywhere near that mess. deliberately going to confront protesters would probably be viewed as escalation of confrontation, and removes the required "reluctant participant" element of lawful self defense under the MN Personal Protection Act. (MN S.S 624.714)
My greatest fear is a permit holder not planning to be there, makes a wrong turn, gets blocked in by ANTIFA mob, and because he,(or she), is neither of a protected class, wearing a a black face mask or a pink pussy hat, gets assaulted due to mistaken association. Fearing for their life, (when surrounded by black clad mask wearing people shouting at you, preventing escape alone is enough cause in my book), the permit holder responds appropriately.
Somebody could get killed by this mob's actions, and I don't think they care if its one of their own. ANTIFA just want to raise the bar of violence, and blood of their own justifies the riot they want to do.
Unlikely for a bit event, but inevitable in street closing assaults/riots/protests.
The reason I say unlikely is moderately informed folk won't go near a big political event unless there to watch. ( & therefore prepared to be unarmed and alert )
But going by the "by any means..." trend in Socialist Agitation, anyone shooting at " protesters" is likely a plant/fall guy.
My mistake, the campaign rally is at the Target Center. Still the same bans guns policy, but a few blocks difference puts it in a much more crime and violence prone neighborhood. This is where all the national press reports of gang assaults and robberies have been taking place. I hope the attending off duty cops, prohibited from wearing uniforms, are wearing their red "Cops For Trump" T-shirts, and are everywhere.
I wonder what the policy for off duty law enforcement is with regards to firearm carry and presidential security. I know the Target Center gives them a pass, as theoretically law enforcement is never completely "off duty". I wonder if the Secret Service does the same?
