the biblical rule of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” (Matt. 7:12)
This is a major doctrine concerning the rearing of my 2 children. Teaching it to my offspring has also altered the way I treat other people.
IMHO, you don't really grasp a concept, until you are forced to teach it to subordinates. It's easy to say a thing, and easy to think you do a thing. It's harder to say, "do what I do", or "follow my example". I don't always like treating others how I want to be treated. But, it is very much in alignment with the idea of our Constitutional Republic.
The tv show with a lost in space astronaut, misunderstanding & ego causing interstellar war, hot alien not at all ladies, and 2 of the main characters are Muppets.
The pitch meeting for Farscape must have been in a smoke filled room. Awesome accomplishment.
Then, when the producers of Stargate SG1 wrapped up the series, ending it definitively, with the sequel in production, the main star retiring, the Network looked at the ratings and fan mail, and demanded a 9th season. Uh. With Claudia Black's guest star character, & her old co star Ben Browder, the not a reboot series went on 2 more seasons. And was darn good.
I especially liked how Claudia was able to break from her deadly serious character from Farscape, with Vala, the hilariously manipulative perpetual fish out of water.
But my favorite scene in the entire series is the beyond classified briefing of the new President his first day in office.
The apparent universal truth in Lion society is that might makes right. In Lion culture it's good to kill a rival and his cubs, so you can breed more females. Genetic propagation of the fittest is the universal law in nature, yeah?
For a truth to be universal, wouldn't it need to manifest and be affirmed throughout the world and throughout history?
Has that been the case? Even now, in most of the world, is that the case? Even now in most of the human species, is that the case?
Even now in America, just remove the police and watch the spectacle. Looting, theft, arson, rape, murder, the rule of might-makes-right soon takes over. No?
Or put the police under the control of the authoritarian rulers... forget Naziism, Stalinism, Maoism, N. Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and their ilk, just look at the mayor of Baltimore, MD, or the state of the cities in California.
I'm at a loss to even see how objective truth is a thing if a man is his own greatest authority, how a person could know anything for certain. For if a person doesn't know everything, then something he doesn't know could contradict something that he thinks he knows.
Even now in America, just remove the police and watch the spectacle. Looting, theft, arson, rape, murder, the rule of might-makes-right soon takes over. No?
That's only among our less civilized populations...people born, bred, and raised generationally with entirely different value systems...which often devalues themselves and others.
But yeah...hierarchical structures will manifest themselves naturally among man and beast alike...and some are more savage than others.
If everyone is armed and capable of their own defense...history has shown that there are far more good people than those prone to such evils.
That looks like a worm Kalashnikov with a new receiver and a new commercial barrel. Looks like a kit build. I believe that's a Russian magazine as well.
This was my most popular image on Photobucket...my AR-15 in a transitional phase...no idea why.
The Biden plan would force owners of assault rifles to register their weapons with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. If they did not do so, they would have to sell them to the government.
The Biden plan would not require owners of any type of gun to register with the federal government, as some advocates are seeking, but would support state efforts at enacting such requirements.
Why? ( you didn't ask, but I'll tell you anyway. )
Because they really think they are the Master Class. Or Master Race, but they try to hide that part of their history.
But calling someone a racist is their Logical Fallacy Ad Hominem response to any argument they can't win today, so for sake of discussion I'll pretend to ignore their Loyalty to the Party of The Klan, Jim Crow, Plantation Thinking, and Racial Genocide. ( Planned Parenthood )
And to be honest, while keeping an oppressed minority as a tame voting pool is still a top priority of the Klan Party, their emphasis has shifted to illegal immigrants, and Hispanics. ( or White Hispanics if they are conservative or Republican )
And for the last century, the Marxist-Leninist take over of the Party and through it, education & media, has diluted the victim pool of the Party to include all Citizens. They don't want informed, Citizens, they want Subjects to the Holy State. One Religion to Rule Them All. ( and Antifa are the Orcs Sauron sends forth )
And you can't enslave an armed Citizenry.
Every other thing they claim is obviously bull. They don't care about people being murdered, or they'd care about the murder rate in long term D ruled cities. They obviously don't care about minorities except as tools, or when there are a dozen murders in Chicago on a weekend, they'd call for more & better law enforcement. In fact they call for the opposite.
Illegal immigration, Anti Rights, (gun control, Freedom of Speech & Religion ) Climate Change, anti Christian, Anti Semetic, anti Family, anti Nationalism, etc. Are all from the same group of rich, Elitist, folk.
I fully realize this sounds like crackpot conspiracy theory.
So just look for yourself. And pay attention to the spin & lies, as they demand you give up your weapons of war high powered assault weapons
And then, they can come and take your other property & freedoms. Until the First & Second Amendments are destroyed, how are they going to take your cars & trucks, etc.?
I explained to some "liberals" what propaganda was in plain language. It pretty much killed the conversation concerning one of their coveted poster children.
I often work on my home defense doctrine, as we all should. I do not want to make emotional decisions when it comes to the use of force. Today "bugout" is being examined by me. I look at what I consider deadly force. Wikipedia says, "Deadly force, also known as lethal force, is use of force that is likely to cause serious bodily injury or death to another person. In most jurisdictions, the use of deadly force is justified only under conditions of extreme necessity as a last resort, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed." So, in a "bugout" situation? Let it be known that my first choice is to shelter in place. I would go to filtering water with a Big Berkey water filter setup in the garage. Water allows me to not have to expose myself for 30 days. By then I would hope either the situation was resolved or there would be clearer choices concerning those left roaming the streets. At that time I would be checking out food sources. To move in the outdoors my pack would contain water , 120 rounds of pistol ammo, some .308 ammo and protein powder. I would be wearing body armor. The weapon of choice will be a pistol in .454 Casull. A long gun would be hard to conceal and also be a target of thieves. So, I have a .308 rifle cached a mile from home should that kind of answer be required. My thinking today deals with the use of a firearm. Why would I carry a .454? In my mind, if I shoot anyone with any gun, the court of public opinion will find me guilty of using deadly force. So, I choose a grey revolver that looks like something from a cowboy western. Not a scary black military gun (assault rifle). note: the .308 has a wooden stock and is lever action with steel sights. You will have to defend yourself twice. Just the way it is. My first choice is to avoid conflict. My last choice has to do with firing the firearm. The firearm is not for killing. It is for eliminating threat. In my/our choice of firearm it can effect the second phase of defending ourselves. Please, note that I do not recommend the wearing of body armor except in extreme situations. It will not be interpreted well by a jury. For me, it is akin to wearing a life jacket on a boat.
A weapon often neglected by the "prepper" is the book. I have plenty of books stored to combat boredom.
Ourdee, I personally find a .454 Casull hurts my wrists, ( old, abused, and a bit arthritic ) and when I was shopping for a big bore revolver, cost a lot more & had hard to find ammo, compared to the then popularized by Cowboy Action competitions, .45 Colt.
On the recoil side, I'm happy with .44 magnum & below, and it's possible with a heavier gun than I've tried ( Ruger snub nosed ) i wouldn't mind so much. ( and the muzzle blast out of a 3" barrel is a weapon all it's own in .454 )
The good news, logistically, is you can use my ammo if you want, and that's more than adequate for deer sized game. I admit the .454 is better for mega fauna like Brown Bear, Bison, or armored vehicles.
Is that lever action a Browning with the rack & pinion?
The nice is that I can lighten my loads with .45 Colt. As heavy as the Ruger Super Redhawk with a 7.5" barrel is, it makes the Long Colt very comfortable to shoot. The .454 is there to take on the big tasks. It will penetrate the "bullet proof" windows you see in gas stations. I can conceal it in my summer clothes. There is no animal walking that can not be taken with it. I have big rubber grips I put on it for range days. I have been told that the .500 mag. with porting does not kick as much as .454 out of a 7.5" barrel. Would be nice to see a scientific test. Another fun thing I have for this pistol is a thousand rounds of wax bullets.
Ourdee, you mentioned the Redhawk. I have an old Redhawk in 44 mag with 7.5" barrel. It has rubber grips and shoots really well. I did a trigger job on it and double action is sweet. You can feel the two clicks and hold at the second one. Just a little more and it go boom! 240 grain JHP with a compression load of IMR 4227. That was an accuracy load for my Marlin lever action of the same caliber. Back in the 80's I too had a hankering for a single caliber duo.
