I am trying to plan a vacation this Summer where I can fly in, rent a bike and ride a little. The problem I'm having is that I can't find any place in the US that rents Buell's. Does anyone know of anywhere that does? The fly and ride program through BRAG only offers Harley rental and as you all know it just isn't the same. The guy at BRAG said there was a place in NM that rented Blast's but I was looking for XB9's and a place with a few more curves to ride. The South East is out of the question cuz I can ride my own bike there. I'd be open to renting any kind of V twin sports bike if anyone knows of a good place or has any suggestions.

Hey Rebecca! Welcome to the board. Good luck finding a bike. I think there may be some dealers in Arizona that rent XB's. But I have a better idea, save your vacation time so you can come with us to the Running the Ridge BRAG Adventure September 22-24 in 2004 Boone, NC. Then you can take Dave's suggestion and rent from Tilley's. |

I want to rent a Buell and go to Yellowstone but that doesn't look like it is going to happen unless it's a Harley. 2nd option is to go to South Dakota near Deadwood and ride the roads in those parts but nothing is looking too hot for getting a 'fun' bike in that area either. Dave- Rent a 'real bike' Hummm... Look you mine goes, just not as fast as I'd like which is probably a good thing, for now. But I can still take a corner and I have the ground down foot pegs to prove it, so there. Travis, Saving vacation time isn't really an issue for me. I have a job that is flexible and doesn't really have a fixed amount of vacation time. Just as long as I'm producing and making my bosses $$$ I can pretty much do as I wish. But I will keep Sept. in mind.

Tilley's is the only place I've heard of renting Sport Bikes. What about BMW? Google this BMW motorcycle rentals They're everywhere. |

Friend of mine used to have a bike tour company here in Southern BC--they rented Ducatis exclusively. Things change, and that business is now kaput. I believe, however, there is a company out of Nelson, BC (an hour away from me) that guides tours on BMW's--but I can't find them on the net (maybe they're gone too, leaving the field to the cruiser rental and tour companies...sigh) |

Along4 - Give 'Folsom H-D' a call. 916-608-9922. They are listed as a Rental location, there's just no listing as to what they rent.. All the other dealers/rental shops in the San Fran area appear to only rent Harleys or the only Buell you can choose is a Blast. Just trying to help.. hope it works out.. if you want to look in other areas, go to the Harley site and look up rentals. They list all 'factory' authorized rental locations by state. Later, |
