Gentlemen,
I'm going to be Buell-less for a bit.
I made a commitment to buy yet another Triumph and can't stall any longer.
127,761 miles, hard bags (need new latches), top case, the bike is old and ugly just like the owner. Has race kit, Lightning fender, bars and cables, Napoleon bar ends, Buell gel backrest pad.
This bike has been chronicled in the past - boatload of new parts at around 97,000 miles, recent new belt, rear wheel bearings, high and low seats, shop, parts and owners manual.
Right now I'm digging into the clutch, something gave up the ghost (not the newish Barnett plates). Good news is the gearbox won't need to come apart, it's something stupid.
I'll get this fixed before the new owner gets it.
The only other issue I can think of is the idle adjuster cable needs replacing.
A good bomb around bike, runs strong and handles, brakes, does all the rest really well.

I'll return to the fold later, probably restore an old tube frame for the fun of it.

If you part it out, please don't tell me.
I've had a LOT of fun on this bike.
Bike is in central PA, I can meet the shipper at the end of my street if you go that route.

Found the problem but I won't be fixing it.
Lip inside of primary case broke in the rear where the ball ramp slides and it looks like a new ball ramp mechanism is in order, too.
Everything else inside the primary is good.
This will not be a ride it home deal, I'm afraid.

The good news is Dave Fleck (DMF Machining) makes ramp repair kits that make the XB clutch ramp better than new. The kit is like $75 bucks, iirc.

That looks like it'll outlast a new case, doesn't it?

I guess over time they just get worn down and then go "plink".
This one has about 1/2 the amount the missing as the one shown on the Facebook page. I took everything apart going where the hell did this come from? Oh, it's the flipping case...

Steve, absolutely a better option vs buying a new case. That thing will outlast the bike once the repair is performed. I keep a couple of these kits on hand for my bikes in the event mine decide to let loose.

Well, I just did buy a hep Buell button down shirt...
It's not a bad bike, it's just aggravating as shit with little piddly crap driving me nuts.
However, I can swing that Triumph by other means so it won't kill me to fix it up and push onward to 200,000 miles.

I'm wondering how 127000 miles Buell looks like. Any pictures?

I’ve had both 82k & 144k mile ulys. Current one is on 43k.
Excellent chance for anyone who wants to try a Ulysses out. I’m sure if it made it that far it’s been well looked after!!!

Might buy it actually, are you still right near the MD/PA boarder?
Would you meet me at 83?

Sure, I could do that, I'm only around 8 miles from there.
I've got all of the service records from when it was uncrated. Big refurb at 93,000 and then recent rear wheel bearings and spacer, belt and Barnett clutch.
Primary cover is off and clutch ramp bits are under the seat at the moment.
It's a good running bike and it does a great job of blowing off cars on 83! I never beat on it but I do believe in blowing the carbon out.
I'll throw in whatever spares I have for it.
Buell1200x5@yahoo.com is me.

Last call before I fix it and put it back on the road.
Going once, going twice...

Gone.
The old pile will be screwed back together for more abuse, clutch cover sent off for repair.

Got it repaired and rode it a few times but it's just mostly sitting.
The rear pushrod cover is leaking at the base and it needs a new idle speed adjusting cable.
$1250 if anyone wants it.
It makes for a really good beater bike.

By overwhelming demand, here it is, in all of its unwashed glory.

Hard bags are currently off the bike (obviously), they need latches, r/h mirror was swiped to replace one that was ripped off of my Tiger in my recent heart attack crash, cheap Emgo grips are disintegrating. What a surprise.

The Useless is spoken for and I'll be back in the fold on an S3 once again.

I always did like the S3 so why not?
