https://www.wsj.com/articles/chinas-potential-new- trade-weapon-corporate-social-credits-11566954901 The ultimate result of "social credit" systems is to control companies in every way. The only way to fight that is to not do business with them, at all. This is also how you fight Facebook/Google as they exploit the loophole of platform while acting as publishers, and censoring posters politically. We can survive without Facebook, or China. Not without cost. But the cost not to is far too high. |

https://reason.com/2019/08/26/secret-memos-show-th e-government-has-been-lying-about-backpage/ Another Injustice Department case of dishonest persecution? This isn't as clear as it might seem. It may be a few virtue signalling officers in the Justice department decided to get brownie points by stealing millions from innocent people, who were working diligently to cooperate with the Feds. I know "innocent people" sounds wrong when you're talking about the guys running a get laid web service, where you could buy panties and arrange to be a Sugar Daddy for college students , but it you look past the hype and government propaganda... |

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-08-27/i-cant-w ait-until-these-people-are-charge-healthcare Bless their hearts. What I really love about this editorial is how a report on useful idiots cheering the death of their designated enemy, turns into a warning of social instability as hate filled mobs become the methodology of evil politicians, ( a legit and imho, correct warning ) then slides into an advertisement for the company product. Which just demonstrates you can sell stuff with the truth, which honest folk already believed. Sure does crank up my skeptic tendency. |

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/08/i ts_a_good_thing_i_dont_live_in_the_country_with_th e_best_medical_care.html I deleted this morning an editorial I wrote on why Leftists/Greenies Had To Lie. Over on the science thread after a list on the lies about the Amazon fires. Shouldn't have. They have to lie, because no one would buy their crap if they told the truth. Hard to be a big savior if they did. "I want to control your healthcare so I will make private practice illegal. That way I can put price caps on payments and give doctor & nurses no choice but to work for the government. That's called slavery. Sure hospitals will close and patients will die, just like in England, but it's worth your life for me to get richer and more powerful." That'd get lots of votes, eh? That's the policy of every Democrat candidate. Btw, Canada may have the second best health care system in the world! It's pretty darn good! And if I lived there, great country, great people, ( except their premier ) I'd be dead. I walked into my Doctor's office and 24 hours later was almost finished with emergency surgery for heart failure. Would have been getting ready to go home, except they went in my Femoral artery instead of my wrist, and couldn't move with a forty pound sandbag holding the plug in my leg. Went home the next day. Still here! In Canada I'd have died waiting for a specialist, a wait of 3-4 months in Toronto, across the Lake from me. Zero doubt. Better healthcare in Canada? Yes, in some ways. I know a guy who got morphine to stop a stomach nerve thing that was killing him. He would have had a hard time getting that here, since politicians restrict doctors to pretend to control drug abuse. I know of a couple guys who had excellent care in Mexico and Japan, when life threatening illnesses hit them abroad. I also personally know a lady who flew back from England on the first flight she could reach, so she wouldn't die there waiting for care months away, when hours mattered. Our system isn't perfect. Obama care raised rates and cost us health professionals. Medicare and the VA system have let many die while managers collected bonuses for false statistics. But other than government interference and price raising policies, it's the best in the world. |

Appropriate actions soon need to be taken to counter the NPVIC and its plan to circumvent the intent of the Founders regarding the purpose and value of the Electoral College. So...HOW do we do that? Honest question there. I feel(fear) that I'm already in one of the states that has succumbed/endorsed this plan (Maryland), so writing to MY representatives won't do any good...so what recourse do we have? |

Laws are being challenged as unconstitutional. State laws may not make rules about how the constitution proscribes elections. Court has already ruled that electors are free to vote their own will. |

May I suggest a review of Ray v. Blair (1952). Current case law permits states to pass laws requiring electors to pledge that, if chosen, they will vote for their parties candidate. Because the ballot and pledge requirements were directed by state legislatures, they they came with those legislators’ federal constitutional power to direct the manner of selecting presidential electors. Also see Bush v. palm Beach Canvassing Board (2000) |

quote:Most states bind electors of the Electoral College to the party's chosen candidate. Today, if electors do not vote with their party, they are usually fined a fee of $1,000. Fifteen states do not require their electoral college to vote for their party of registration. Those states are: Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

The argument in the current case is that states may not make law governing federal elections as the constitution is quite clear on the rules, and a recent decision guarantees the absolute freedom of the elector to vote as they see fit. Existing laws are what are being challenged. |

Up front, I'm mostly from the pale blue Northern people. Almost half Celt, a darker folk, and some Spanish sailors that could swim genes, too. ( which may explain all the lifeguards in my family ) But on my Mom's side, they consider Germans to be southern dark skinned folk. None of my ancestors AFAIK, ever bought black slaves from the English. Both sides of the family took English as slaves. Directly, by going over with boats, personally. Cut out the middle man is a regional tradition. Did I have white privilege? Yes, in the sense that I never had Democrats tell me in school I couldn't get ahead because of color. I was told that because I annoyed them, bipartisan, btw. I was never especially racially prejudged. That's true. Every other thing that's supposed to make me privileged? Money? not so much. Parents encouraged me to read? Yes, and why is that racist? Taught that 2+2=4? Yes, and again? Either Democrats really think Black people are stupid, or they have been deliberately keeping them from having an education to keep them down.... Oh? Both? Makes sense. That's just my qualification to comment on racial prejudice. Darn near none, and yes, I've laughed at bad jokes, and then grew up. So I'm far from perfect. But call me racist? That just means you have no argument, know you are wrong, and went ad hominem. Or you are trying to start trouble. I see no reason to tolerate slander. Words don't justify violence. They also don't command surrender. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/08/t he_character_assassination_of_amy_wax_and_her_resp onse_.html https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/08/v ermonters_strive_to_preserve_their_culture_against _false_charges_of_racism.html https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/08/a-o ne-step-approach-to-dealing-with-accusations-of-ra cism.php If the charge is false, fight back until it is retracted. |

Right! Eh? The author seems haunted by the demons of the 1960s, & earlier. Maybe early 50's. I don't feel I can make fun of him, since I'm always pointing out old facts ( that stubbornly refused to not be facts ) and political events seemingly erased from history. To pick one not really American Partisan ( except by contamination with Trump Hatred ) how about the Irish Resistance to British genocidal rule? Yes, I'm using loaded phrases. The Brits have improved on the mass slaughter aspects since WW2, and there's been a truce for a few short decades. ( very few terrorist attacks on the Royalty lately ) But Brexit, and hate propaganda from the EU to try and stop it, have torn open old wounds. As an American, my connection with the Olde Sod is spiritual, ancestral, but I'm not blinded by bias. I'm well aware that the genocide of The Lord Protector against my ancestors was fueled by a very long history of Irish Reavers paddling across their sea to raid Brit ( Welsh ) towns near the West coast. I am, after all, named for an escaped slave taken in such a raid. And while this seems not to be taught here, there is still lingering resentment against the Irish Republic for being neutral in WW2. A lot of people died, Imperial subjects and American citizens, because of German U boat kills that might have been prevented if the Royal Navy & RAF could have used West coast ports on the Emerald Isle to protect convoys and sub hunt. Never mind that neutrality was a response to recent bitter fighting that came to a draw, with a Still divided land. The only reason there weren't British troops still occupying Ireland with a steel fist was the desperate need for troops in The Great War, and the constant low level casualties on both sides in a protracted guerilla war. Btw, at least one of the Great Famines in Ireland was caused by Climate Change. Yep, the same cold bad times that led to Rebels freezing at Valley Forge, Washington crossing frozen rivers with cannons, ( that no one living can remember freezing over hard enough to do so ) and other Climate Change related political and economic events. Now with Brexit, these bitter memories are being dredged up from the ooze of the past by the, IMHO evil, EU unelected Masters to disrupt Great Britain. And nearly zero mention by Leftist American Media, partly because of utter ignorance, partly because they are on the Evil EU Master's ideological side, and partly blinding hatred for Donald, Boris, and Freedom. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/08/s ecularization_and_the_demonization_of_donald_trump .html If you reject God & Satan, you pick substitutes. It's like they fill their spiritual vacuum with delusional negative zone copies. And defend & attack their New Gods and Demons with the fervor of New England Witch Hunters or The Spanish Inquisition. ( we really should learn to expect that! ) ...... But to return to that unusual editorial at Zero hedge. Parallel universe is nicely put. In a world where a Real Nazi Gazillionaire has over 200 subversive political, insurgent, fake organizations paid to destroy America & Western European Civilization, just like the comic book Hydra, that anyone would be paranoid about the Masonic temple amuses and dismays me. That the conspiracy theories of the Eisenhower administration were still active? Wow. ( not to say they're completely wrong, but, wow. ) |

The wealth that is stolen from the wealthy ends up in the hands of a new class of overlords of society, those who had promised that all would be equal after the victory of the revolution over the unjust wealthy classes. In that, socialist candidates do not lie. They will create "income equality"...everyone (except the Chosen Few) actually WILL be equal. EVERYONE will be destitute. |

The problem with red flag laws... RED FLAG INSANITY: Pro-Trump Former Marine Has Guns Confiscated to Protect ANTIFA Terrorists Back in Illinois, I knew of two people who while going through a divorce, had their wife claim they felt unsafe because of the guns they owned. The guns got carted off, never to be seen again. One of these people had a fairly extensive collection of WWII era guns. The authorities don't investigate the validity of the claims, they just remove the guns from your possession. There is no due process. There is no facing your accuser. It's nothing but back door gun confiscation. |

When my wife "did" herself a few months ago, the County Sheriffs took all my guns they could find. Once the investigation was closed, I got a call to pick them up at "evidence". When I got there, they were on a cart, individually boxed and zip-tied the the box bottom. Very well cared for. My county's Sheriff is one of the ones who refused to comply with Colorado's red flag law. Z |

The perverse side of me says use this violation of rights against them. Anonymous complaint against all the Dem. Legislators in your State and Federal systems. Every Democrat candidate needs an early morning visit from police violating their rights. How many will get shot in the process? Let's start a pool. They don't seem to care about how many citizens peasants are shot. And people have died in these raids. Good for the goose... There's little doubt that most of these folk are mentally ill. Their overwhelming need to tell other people how to run their lives and narcissistic personality disorder are obvious, and a danger to society. The polite, nice side of me has to condemn such nonsense. |

https://pjmedia.com/trending/tian-an-men-and-hong- kong-has-beijing-learned-anything I suspect in the very near future, you will bring up your Google search page, type in Tienanmen Square, and get a nice tourist description of a great place to visit, but no mention at all of protests, tanks, or death. ( which the Red Chinese government has denied ever happened. ) And "Hong Kong" will have no mention of the Contract that the English imposed on giving back their "colony" after taking it by force, ( gunships, troops ) from the now long gone Chinese "government" ( which wasn't all that unified back then ) Because Google wants to make many more millions off China, and cooperating with the most murderous regime in human history is good business. Where do I think this is going? Mass murder, if the pattern is followed as usual. Denial that anyone was killed, no matter what you peasants thought you saw on live facebook feed. This isn't cynicism. It's historical reality. Not limited to China, there has been a long repeated tactic used by angry frightened despots, and that is, "If they won't back down, kill them, and keep killing them until they are hiding in basements and will never dare raise their voices against me". And we can see from the Police storming onto a train, beating with clubs and spraying with pepper spray anyone handy, especially obvious commuters with no connection to the protesters, that that policy of terror is ramping up. The Chinese leadership embraces the ancient philosophy, "If they won't respect me, I'll settle for them fearing me". And since it's worked for them since WW2, why not? Except China isn't the isolated Middle Kingdom anymore. They are still the center of the Universe, ( the last measly century of American success is a momentary thing. China has been a major power for thousands of years ) But the isolation is fading. It's harder and harder to hide the lakes of toxic waste, the mass graves, the peasant uprisings. And while Angela Merkel & France's Macron may be content to do nothing while people are shot in the streets in Hong Kong, Donald, the Bad Orange Man, might not be. After all he knows we are at war with China, and today it's mostly just economic, and isn't the best time to crank up the pressure when the enemy is distracted? More important, can Donald leverage the trade war to save millions of Chinese subjects from mass murder? Will the ultimate goal not have to be a counter revolution? https://pjmedia.com/claudiarosett/keeping-faith-wi th-tiananmen/ |
