Dad gum it... I just googled "racist alien" looking for MEME's.... according to Google, it's racist to believe that Aliens built the pyramids. For crying out loud, EVERYTHING IS RACIST! Isn't "race" a made up point-of-contention anyway? Should we use real, scientific terms like "subspecies"? I'm sure reffering to humans in terms of "subspecies" would somehow get me banned from twitter or demonitized from youtube or attacked by antifa. | ||

One of my favorite sci-fi short stories was in Analog magazine in the early 80s. It was the secret report of the truth about Roswell. Experimental space capsule test with chimps, hauled up by a balloon. However, the space suits weren't made right to account for the fur, so they had to shave the chimps & grease them to get them in, and the balloon went off course & crashed outside of Roswell. The chimps got out & stripped off their suits & were seen by locals. To avoid the embarrassment of admitting they'd had the series of screw ups, the cover story was.... To deny there were aliens & let the tabloids take It from there. Classified above nuclear secrets to this day. It was funnier when the author told it. I see that cover up concept as completely believable. It's a standard magic trick principle. It's one step beyond waving the right hand to distract while the left hides the ball. It's doing a sleight of hand to distract, then deliberately blowing the 2nd trick to double the distance from the first. Also one of the hardest forms of lying, telling the truth & making no one believe you. And it's used in politics. Barry pulled a master level version with the "birther" scam. Who said Obama was born in Kenya? Obama, or more precisely, his publisher. Admittedly that was a lie to sell more books, but when Barry decided ( or was chosen, pick your level of cynicism ) to run for President, that lie got removed, but not perfectly erased. Then the Hillary Campaign ran with it, boosted by a few of Barry's step family telling credulous reporters he was Kenyan. ( and to be fair, if a distant relative offered me a few thousand dollars to tell just one lie about him, then deny it later all I wanted, as a big joke on people I didn't respect anyway, I might do it. ) And to sell the distraction even better, he refused to show his birth certificate, kicking Hillary for paranoid fantasies. What was he covering up? You tell me. I was aware of massive illegal foreign bribes/donations, and that he was a stoner commie leach , but that was either reported & ignored or in his biography. So I'll let you speculate. Then, 4 years later, the old lie got dusted off again & fed to the Republicans. This time a birth certificate was produced, but under carefully crafted to be suspicious circumstances, then issued as a pdf file with .multiple layers which the expert hired by Snopes explained as normal scanner software artifacts. Sure they were. I mean that's a good explanation, but those same layers and distortion would be easy to fake, either when altering the document, or making it look like the document was altered. Double fake. Or not. How can you tell? And that was the point. Deliberately playing a "proof" of honesty from a known dishonest guy so that some would disbelieve it, and it worked perfectly , with folk to this day not believing Barry was born in Hawaii. Brilliant. It's a great weapon to make people look like fools, and it's been used as such repeatedly. Even coined a new word, birther, to paint people as crazy. Today, a lot of people really believe Trump is a White Supremacist. These Dems lack Barry's subtlety & foresight. ( or his handler's ) And the Russian hoax, etc. I hope their lack of finesse bites them and they lose. But more importantly their daily lies and hyperbole are inadvertently hiding anything this administration may be doing wrong. I can't get another layer of double think to stick that they are doing so in cooperation with Trump..... If so, awesome levels of deep state illuminati conspiracy. | ||

Re: races. You are closer to Eskimos or Kalahari Bush men than German Shepherd Dogs and Poodles. I've long held that if you take any babies from anywhere and raise them in a culture, they'd be indistinguishable from "natives". And, yes, I read The Bell Curve. And yes, I understand statistics enough to know a fairly large ( over a few hundred ) sample would be needed to scientifically prove my belief, since individual variation is bigger by orders of magnitude than a mean difference of groups. Moreover, I'm American. We as a people are both the most racially mixed folk I know of, ( the English/Brits & Canadians are close ) and the product of Evolution. Every one of our ancestors was either captured and sent here involuntarily, or went through great hardship to escape the Old homelands, one way or another. It's not all folk who hear the geese, ( adventurers who seek the unknown ) or Chase the Dream, there's a lot of too stubborn to give up their gods, and malcontents and chasers of gold and...and... As Bill Murray's character in the movie Stripes put it we are the wretched refuse, the folk that were kicked out of every decent country in the world. Using 18th century primitive "scientific" terminology embraced by slave sellers in England is just nutty. And stupid. Yes, people are different. Race is a construct used by evil men. | ||

The part about that, that astounds me, is that this is quite possibly her last chance to see her grandmother alive. I understand her to be 90 year old. I fail to see why the city thinks it's responsible for all these people. Don't get me wrong - I'm sympathetic...to a point. If you're able-bodied and able-minded, get off your ass and get a job, and provide for yourself. If you can't afford to live in trendy LA or SF...MOVE. Go someplace you CAN afford - it's what the rest of society does, and I'm sorry Millenials...we don't "owe" you anything, you need to get out and EARN just like the rest of us do. It's hard. That's why they call it "work". That's also why you get paid to do it.
