Got a 2002 XB9R and haven't got round to doing something about the lack of power yet. Love the bike otherwise. Was thinking of the Nallin 1200 kit but wondered what you guys thought the most cost effective upgrades would be? Looking for a stock pipe to get "Drummered". In fact if it could be done I'd source one in the US and ask for it to go straight to KD Fabricators and save the shipping to Scotland. |

I would go with a Drummer in whatever way you can, a race ECM and the 12 airbox lid. Granted, that won't get you to the same level as a 1200cc kit from Nallin... If you want to get a bit more I would say Stage 3 Nallin heads and a different header IF Aaron recommends it. After that, Go for the 1420 kit when you need to. Just my 2c. |

M1, according to Nallin the 1200 is the biggest you can go on the XB9. I would have already got a 12 airbox cover if I could get it in the white colour molded in material. Just like the way it looks now.

Gaz that airbox cover is underneath your white shell. So what I'm saying is thats your body work not your airbox cover. |

Gaz, If you remove your external (white) airbox cover, you'll find an internal airbox cover that covers the actual airfilter and velocity stack...that is the one you want to replace with the XB12 version |

The 12 airbox you need is underneath the colored one. No need to change that one. I can get you what you need. Ride to the edge! Dave daves@h-dappleton.com |

Do a search for "airbox" there are many older threads dedicated to this topic. This mod definitely provides the most bang for the buck. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/41876.html?1071443667 |

Sorry, my mistake. For some reason , thought you meant those external airbox covers with the front vents in. I've been surfing for 5 hrs looking at stuff for the bike. Thats after a 12 hr shift. Been chasing down a solution for the speedo sensor that's u/s also. |

The new speedo sensor part solves the problem. Part number in the knowledge vault. As I recall Aaron describing an XB9R they modified with the 1200cc kit, with the stock 9 gearing, you could loop the thing in first and second by just pinning the throttle. How much more power do you need then that? Somebody sent me an mp3 of the drummer. Best sounding exhaust I have ever heard on anything with an engine. |

I just put the drummer on my 12. It is exactly what I wanted. It is supposed to do even more for the 9. It is easier than a big bore kit. If you go big bore though... you gotta do exhaust! Drummer! |
