(I've got a 2005 XB9SX and a 2002 Blast coming up for sale as well, same place, both in good shape - I'll be listing them soon) This is a 2008 Buell 1125R with lower fairings, purchased new in Ames, Iowa, back in mid-2009. I’ve run this bike all over the southwest - New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, etc. It’s been a great bike and will do just about anything, including more gravel and ice/snow than one ought to ride. It was a year round commuter, a light track day bike, and I put 1200-1300 miles a month on it for quite a while. The oil is freshly replaced with some Amsoil 20W50, and there’s a set of Pilot Road 3s on the wheels - though the tires are pretty old and should probably be replaced. But I’m older, have two kids, and I’m simply not riding two wheels as much as I used to. Out in southwest Idaho, I’m riding slower on straight farm country roads, frequently with a kid, and I’ve settled on something just as weird as Buells - Urals. My wife and I have a pair of Ural Gear-Ups, and I ride that year round through the snow and ice. Mods and Tweaks (I’m sure I’m forgetting some): * Buell Race ECU (proper tuning, runs cooler, no gaps in the power band). * Flashing LED tail light (blinks on braking to get people’s attention, far brighter than stock). * HID low beams - bright, white, visible. * 55W high beams - upgrades from the 35W stock bulbs. They really light the road at night. * Snake Grip on the airbox and fuel tank to provide significantly improved bike grip and additional insulation. * Wrapped exhaust (helps keep the heat in and exhaust velocity up). * Thermal insulation on the inside of the fuel tank (helps keep the fuel cool). * Heat shielding on the right lower fairing (exhaust side). * Full luggage (see pictures). * Lowered rider pegs (slightly less curled up riding position). * 2009 instrument cluster (to resolve an issue with the 2008 security system draining the battery in 3 days). * Custom rear luggage supports. The thick wire frames keep the luggage from drooping into the wheel path. * Solenoid removed (removes a couple pounds and prevents it from pulling the throttle closed for emissions reasons). * K&N air filter. * Bar end weights to reduce vibrations. * Improved inter-frame grounding, battery tender plug. * Buell tank bag, large rear side bags & top bag. Spare Parts: * Extra headlight assembly with stock 35W bulbs. * 3x oil filters. * Rear brake light switch (the one in there is stiff and doesn’t always trigger). * Pit Bull Track Stand - the wide rear swingarm requires a special stand. * Extra belt under the seat. The factory belt was replaced at 30k miles, keeping the original as a spare. * Factory owners’s manual. * I have digital copies of the service/electrical manual. * I have the stock rear seat cowling. Like any old bike, there are a few quirks and gotchas. The low fuel light will frequently light up in the winter, even with a full tank. In the cold (below 40F or so), one of the HIDs is lazy to light and occasionally requires power cycling to come on properly. And the ignition switch might need rewiring at some point - it’s been behaving fine, but I recall it was having problems at full right lock with something not making good contact. The Buell tank bag’s zippers are having some issues and could use a bit of love as well. I did lowside at the Albuquerque Track, which is where the scuffs on the right side are from. The clutch cover was replaced due to damage with the newer version. The right rear peg has some scraping, but is mechanically solid and hasn’t been replaced. Test ride policy: If you show up in reasonable gear on a competent, relatively powerful sport/touring motorcycle (not a cruiser) with full asking price in cash and a motorcycle endorsement, have a blast. Otherwise, no test rides. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-49PZnq78trE/XUuBiIpxwoI /AAAAAAAA4bE/7OzqbakQV0UjTA73Dk1deF8cdmHb654ggCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070550.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZJ5dWhBoGTg/XUuBFsdH7iI /AAAAAAAA4aI/EmirTQVclfMIqdJEnlaWFQTnjW63cSnDgCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070533.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HL0MuEGyWwk/XUuBGrhZ9EI /AAAAAAAA4aM/aZ6MkV6I8cAR8Fb0sE3l85SID5OKt0C_wCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070534.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9Y2IwVBGcw/XUuBGwj5EOI /AAAAAAAA4aQ/4Dhf7d163OYnrte2vfnX-VhhZ71qe11PgCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070535.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8doPEr-puMM/XUuBL3fU0RI /AAAAAAAA4aU/2ZLlkz8u1jk9xMuqB1fWvE_Vs_raLy-BwCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070537.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GMvvK952rmM/XUuBNndnZOI /AAAAAAAA4aY/4wK22WdNd34-GwwsLgSyy8Xa-LCWivSRQCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070539.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P8hPn-jSyIc/XUuBRzlwo6I /AAAAAAAA4ag/OfxVmJl_2ZMT_8tMaUKtZRhkAcUwmweFQCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070542.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8HOXhepWRcQ/XUuBS2ekOSI /AAAAAAAA4ak/uTo5MtHSPxInBLdQfRU0JP5AkIKh3Z4wACLcB GAs/s1600/P8070543.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-quWQiDn3Wv0/XUuBYM7p-eI /AAAAAAAA4a0/aHDFAqQHkqgDlOLtqgtfpFYK3ujhekBKACLcB GAs/s1600/P8070544.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vpJvZ-FV6qA/XUuBYtW5j6I /AAAAAAAA4a4/EQib8_ycKvQrhWqSV2urKMAMxgYzuqPwwCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070546.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cSU-_Vyo0cc/XUuBZmLFjPI /AAAAAAAA4a8/QtdELmDLAmAPJzejlBLG3AkF-c1BfFb4ACLcB GAs/s1600/P8070547.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KaGzdr-csA8/XUuBgtDhycI /AAAAAAAA4bA/wQIt_OArSzgAX4XP0tUi4qp7eeJ7n2ZWwCLcB GAs/s1600/P8070548.jpeg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-igvCROXslLg/XUuBjkRfMlI /AAAAAAAA4bM/8ShDrrtYzL4IR38WnFziPG8gr5EowA8wACLcB GAs/s1600/P8070551.jpeg Price is flexible, but I think $3500 is fair. You should be able to contact me through the board, or I'm easy enough to find via the contact form on my project blog. |

I sold my 2012 ural gear up hoping to buy another with EFI and disc brakes all around. I miss it, and my kids miss it. I will have to pedal a few of these buells and buy another. GLWS!
