I'm just going to start a spreadsheet here at the house. 365 columns, figure...40 or 50 rows should do it (and I might still be around to keep up with it). Every day...enter the high temp according to my thermometer. Same measuring tool, same location, same data. Wonder where that'll lead? |

Sifo, remember reading about Washington moving cannons across some frozen river to catch the British by surprise? He got away with it because of...Climate Change! Locals knew, & told the British, that that river hasn't frozen over in a century... Or how Valley Forge was a frozen hell for his troops? You can Almost see it in the Antarctica chart you linked to....... The hubris and short sightedness that today is normal and has always been that way and always will be, is wrong. Actual Science shows that. |

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/american-thinker/ An excellent source of facts it seems. No doubt American Thinker leans right. Just to get some gauge, I looked up the NYT. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/new-york-times/ "Center Left"? Not much "center about the NYT. Anyone labeling AT as "extreme", probably has some pretty extreme tendencies themselves. Just sayin'. BTW, what they say about "questionable sources"... "A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for the purpose of profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked on a per article basis." What a great description of the NYT! |

Oh Heck NO! It's an Editorial site. Biased as all get out. They are not going to publish stuff that they disagree with, just like CNN. The difference, and I notice CNN is also "Questionable" ( I agree ) is that American Thinker is an editorial site and CNN pretends to be a News organization, when in fact it's a propaganda station that occasionally has news stories. Pity. CNN used to be pretty good. They at least tried to be fair, and they got a lot of points for having ballsy reporters in Iraq during Desert Storm. GW1. By GW2, the Liberation of Iraq, however, they were willing to push what they knew to be lies to keep the office open. And it's been downhill from there. But if you want facts, go to the archives at NASA and NOAA and compare the stories from last year, to the ones from years past. make sure you go back at least a decade. Then you will clearly see that they are frauds who change the past data and "adjust" the current data to make the results match the predictions. Poorly. That's just outright fraud. American Thinker editorials do link to real sites that do real research, and several sites that just collect the data, year by year, and have the guts to point out the fraud. have you read the leaked E-mails from the Hadley CRU? Or read the statements by the UN? Or even Occosio-Cortez's chief of staff? There is no Climate Crisis, other than the one we had before. That has not changed since 1977 when we were all going to freeze. We are probably sliding into another mini Ice Age. Not The Big One, where there will, again, be a mile of ice where I now live, but like the one following the Medieval Climactic Optimum, when the known world was hammered by famines, plagues, and seriously bad weather. That one, which we have really good records of, lasted long enough, and was bad enough, to seal the doom of the Holy Roman Empire, change the politics of China, and create entire mythologies, some of them made into Disney movies. ( with, mostly the nasty parts edited out ) My credentials are purely amateur, although I did get an A in Meteorology 101 and Al Gore got a D. I doubt he took micrometeorology or Aviation weather, and I know he doesn't know how to find a thermal in an aircraft with no engine on board. But I did realize that the Climate Con was a hoax when they kept telling me that a planet 2 degrees warmer would give us killer storms, when ( now ) 40 years+ of historical research shows the exact opposite. In fact, the reason the Vikings were able to colonize Greenland, Vinland, and Iceland, were because in those happy warm days the North Atlantic was relatively storm free. Because it was warmer. And that's relative. It was only deadly dangerous with the most advanced sailing ships of the day. ( admittedly with mediocre sail material. Wool sails bag out bad ) As opposed to, for example, 1942, when we lost ships in storms that used turbines for power and were made of steel. Oh, and had decks & watertight doors. btw, the glaciers have been melting since long before I was born. I've got old National Geographics from the 1920-30s and been to some of those places. And yes, I know how to use a topographical map. One place on my bucket list is the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes. I've got a special edition from 1922 that covers the First expedition there after Mt Katmai Exploded and wiped out the valley. Biggest bang in the 20th Century. https://www.wired.com/2012/06/the-biggest-bang-of- the-20th-century-the-1912-eruption-of-novarupta-in -alaska/ Mt. Katmai may hold the modern record for glacier disappearance. "Gee, it was here last week?" |

Now if you want to be concerned about plastic in the ocean from China and other third world countries, and the incredible amount of air pollution from the industrializing 3rd world, or lakes of radioactive doom growing in 3 dimensions in China to supply Wind Turbine magnets, or.... Then I'am all ears. That stuff is real. Exactly how bad depends on the bias of the agency reporting. And, yes, Big Business has a long history of leaving messes behind. Almost as bad as Socialism. Gotta watch them. After all, the Soviets Killed A Sea. |

I'm betting that the Global Warming debate will be over within a decade. Or, heck, in 12 years when we're all dead per Sandy's prediction. Frankly I'd prefer it to warm up a bit in winter, but looks like the opposite. https://www.manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2019-7-12 -things-keep-getting-worse-for-the-fake-science-of -human-caused-global-warming Shorter, editorial with excerpts from above. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/07/the -fake-science-of-global-warming.php |

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-07-22/new-clim ate-study-warns-london-hot-barcelona-2050 It would be interesting to see how close this prediction gets, in part because the prediction is in some cases 3 times the "official" prediction , and in part because I doubt I'll live that long. So for you younger members... Please verify or dispute the prediction for 2050! My bet is that Constantinople and London will be either the same as today, ranging to snow still on the surrounding hills, in July 2050. So if I'm right, contribute the cost of a steak dinner to a shelter for battered women, and it it's over 2deg. warmer than today, donate the same to a charity of your choice. Btw, if the U.S. is then under Sharia law, give a gun to your daughter. And no matter what, give them martial arts training. No matter if she lives a life of freedom unprecedented in history or suffers under despotic rule by uptight perverted old misogynist men, the self confidence and ability to survive violent scum will serve her well. |

I agree with most of this article, and I disagree with some of his others. But the advice at the end is well reasoned. Finally, even if you still believe man-made global warming is a threat, please ponder the notion that governments will not do anything sensible about it. |

You can ignore most of this sentence, since I'm posting it without any real context. I'll highlight the important word. It’s one of the most important ways the solar cycle affects our planet CYCLE. Forward...then back. Up...then down. Warm...then cool. Been doing it a LOT longer than our species has been running around this blue ball of mud. |

I will say...waking up on July 23 and having it be a wonderful 62 degrees F at my house? Doesn't say "global warming" to me. We had a few "normal-for-July" days last week, where temps were in the 90s and humidity was up - and EVERY weather and news station was proclaiming horror and death and destruction and keep-iced and stay-indoors-or-you'll-melt. Other than last week, though? We've been low-mid 80s pretty much all season here. Which, in my admittedly-addled memory, is pretty darned nice. And non-warming. I gotta start my spreadsheet.... |

https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/summer-heat-wave-i ts-global-warming-or-is-it I have no idea how I lived through Great Plains summer heat as a child. ( the same way they do in Ceylon, sweat ) My Mother was reminiscing about her days when I was a newborn in Lincoln Nebraska when they had weeks of over 100 F. days and nights. They didn't have AC back then, being far too poor. ( and in 1957 you needed to be fairly well off to have AC. Few first year married couples are. ) I do know how I survived the record snowfall, and absurdly low temperatures in South Dakota as a child. Went out and played. Built Igloos. ( needs a certain kind of snow ) Dug Snow Forts. Camped out in Igloos. ( horse blankets on the floor, army wool blankets on top, sleeping bags? What's that? ) Skated across frozen lakes and rivers. Dug out the driveway, a Lot. As an adult, for 25 years, I worked outside. Year 'round. My drawers are arranged in order of cold...turtle necks in this drawer, low necks in the next, long johns, thick to thin, left to right... It's a given that as I got older, the weather got worse. But I have been outside for the entire Global Warming Con. Without AC in the work truck. "Hottest Year On Record" has been a lie for the entire 21st century. Tell me that when it's below zero in my county for the month of Feb. And the electric company sends me letters every month comparing my use vs. my neighbors. oddly, it charts out like there were Solar cycles. |

To be clear. Climate Change is real. It has been for the existence of the human race. ( there was a fairly steady time period back when lizards were new, and global temperatures were WAY higher than today ) Humans can certainly affect the environment. Go swim in the Aral Sea. Climb trees in the Sahara forest. Politicians that claim that by taking your money they can change the temperature of the planet, are lying sacks of crap. ( ok, if they saturation nuked China, maybe ) Anyone who tells you the world is ending and you must give up your freedom and live like a stone age Borneo tribe is full of it. And have you noticed the people that claim Global Warming is going to kill us all in 12 years ( over 30 years ago ) are the same people that want to take away your guns, take away your property, take away your choices as to what to eat, where to live, and what to say? Think there might be a connection? And the worst part, is that by destroying any credibility of the Media Government Complex and imposing weather Lysenkoism on the planet, is that real ecological disasters are ignored. On Purpose. And... since the Greens are a creation of the Soviet KGB to destroy western industrial power, to pave the way for a Socialist Future Paradise ( aka brutal dictatorship ) is it any wonder that the most polluted nations on the planet are...socialist brutal dictatorships that promote the Global Climate Con? It's as though there was a vast international conspiracy to cover up the crimes of socialist brutal dictatorships and destroy western civilization. ( oh, yeah, there is. ) Damn, why does this seem like a familiar rant??? https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/watchwomanont hewall/2011/04/the-45-communist-goals-as-read-into -the-congressional-record-1963.html |

The worry about the magnetic poles is the null period while the field tumbles, leaving less protection against radiation. No one had modern measurement gear the last time the poles flipped, so how bad is still theoretical. However, since the North Magnetic pole was in Canada a short time ago and is racing towards Siberia, last I checked, the Dems & Watermelons are certainly going to blame Trump and Russian Collusion! You, know, because he's racist. |

Well, the Tail is quite a bit south compared to the UDL...and last week was "hot" (read: normal for July). I'm hoping 80s are the new "normal" for summer. Conversely...well...I can always add some layers in the winter if needed. But when it's hot, you can only remove so much (legally, anyway)... |

It's still 2-4 degrees Fahrenheit colder, overall, the planetary average, than the time when Jesus was fishing. Or the Vikings were settling in Greenland. ( 2 separate warm periods ) And that's just the fact no matter your opinion on Global Warming. No matter if you believe that 2019 is the warmest year on record, ( not even close ) & every year since 1998 has been warmer & warmer, record every year.( Not true ) Even if it was so, ( it's not ) we are still colder than it was in Rome when Caesar was Emperor. And they didn't have AC. So you wear linen & sweat. Not to imply modern man are wimps. But heat adaptation is a process that is slowed by AC. A lot of folk never get used to the heat by the end of summer. When I worked outside 6 days a week, by vacation time, in late July, I was fully adapted & camping was no problem. This year, I'm not. So... If you just get used to being miserable.... Every year there have been newspapers, people died of the heat in Paris. ( except the Year without a Summer ) Every year that gets reported big time, because, scary headlines sell newspapers. Every year many more people die of cold. But that doesn't make the front page. That hasn't changed in thousand of years, all over the planet in the Temperate zone. Why? Because it's common to freeze to death but not as common to die from heat. That's how news works. |
