half a quart of lucas oil stabilizer and 2 quarts of valvoline vr1 race oil and wala that annoying as hell harley ticking is gone and the bottom end is as smooth as a babys ••• id recomend EVERYONE try it | ||

why are you using a racing oil in your street bike? are you planning to change it every 5 hours of operation? you may wish to re-think your choice of lubricant. please... no offense intended, but it is my understanding that the additive package in your race oil is insufficient for a street ridden vehicle. may not have the detergency required for multiple cold starts, short trips, and 3000 mile oil change intervals. dont mean to be alarmist or a jerk, i dont mean that you will cause immediate damage, but i dont think you want to run that stuff for very long. later,dean | ||

If you warm up the Lucas in a pan of boiling water it pours rather nicely. Word of caution with regards to the Lucas, it shouldn't be more then a 20% solution. It is a stabilizer not a replacement. By using too much Lucas in the mix it can cause problems. IE: "sticktion" is what the Lucas rep said as a main problem, when the company I worked for switched to it with their fleet vehicles. So, for 2.5 quarts of capacity, you want to replace half a quart of oil with half a quart of Lucas. | ||

i know thats what i did apparently with the wrong kinda oil tho ill replace it all with mobil 1 later today | ||
