Even the uber-liberal Republik Der Marylanden's wear-and-carry permit verbiage reads that "cash and personal safety/life and limb" are the only legitimate legal uses for a firearm. If it can be replaced by insurance (carjacking, for example), we're supposed to let it slide. Fear for life and limb? That's why the state issues. I've said it before - they're going to take it too far, and they're going to attack the wrong person(s), and there will be blood in the streets before this whole fascism/communism/socialism thing goes away. Somewhere, sometime, somebody is going to get sick and tired of taking the higher ground...and it'll get ugly. We've been at relative peace for too long. There's no frame of reference, like for my father's or grandfather's generations - no World War(s), no Korean conflict, no Vietnam. People today are so sheltered that all they know of "violence" and "death" is video games. Until they go out in public and try that stuff for real. Then, we have school shootings. Church massacres. Nightclub attacks. Acid in the face. On the video games...there's no repercussions. At least, none that can't be undone with a "reset" button. Real world? It's different. But without that war/conflict/reality sense of perspective...they don't understand it. I'm genuinely afraid of how that understanding is going to come about. | ||

IIRC the U.S. declared war on Mexico years before the War of Northern Aggression, back in 1846. While charging a Congresscritter with any crime requires lots of legal action, including an impeachment vote by Congress, staffers are not so privileged. It's probably best that Congress members have such legal protections, as we can see by the actions of the former FBI head, Comey, that evil men are willing to send innocent people to prison & let them rot, for political reasons. With the Mueller Special Persecution we see evil men are willing to deliberately bankrupt & threaten the families to get false confessions. If Congressmen were open for prosecution, Abraham Lincoln would have jailed the Confederate allies in Congress, FDR Republicans that resisted his disastrous economic policies, Obama every patriot and Trump all the Democratic Socialist thugs. ( my bias is showing  ) But the staffers? Open season. They are going to a foreign country we legally declared war on, to give aid & comfort to the enemy, and more importantly, are conspiring in criminal activity by helping foreigners to lie to the Federal government that they work for. If they are not arrested and tried, then there is no Law that applies to all Citizens. A condition of tyranny shown by the treatment of Antifa & Hillary. | ||

Why? And now it's official Facebook policy to allow threats of violence against people Facebook's management disagrees with. Just like the 1930's. Places where Socialists took or were taking power. Hate sells. (Note 1) It's the same people issuing the catch phrase of the day as during the Obama years... But it must go back further than that. Rush, back when he was funny, would play clip compilations of this exact creepy phenomenon, so it goes back at least to Slick Willie.
