So, I have broken a left and right rear turn signal within about month. I was able to get left rear turn signal from my "donor" 1125R bike, but I found my right rear turn signal dangling after yesterday's ride. I am not sure if I am kicking them inadvertently as I mount/dismount the bike and they finally broke (most likely) OR if perhaps the stalks broke from the combined effects of age and wind pressure. Anyhow, has anyone installed aftermarket turn rear signals? I am interested in signals as close to stock specs as possible which is Amber color, over length of appx 5 inches and LED of about 3.5 inches. |

PS, I checked eBay and everything seemed smaller than the stock 1125R signals. That's why I am seeing if Badwebbers can suggest anything.. |

Are you talking about the integrated turn signals in the brake light? If so, not interested. I want people to be able to see my signals. It cracks me up when I see bikes with micro-signals. Maybe it keeps them legal, but I want the who is tailgating me to see it. Never understood people who want to make a risky endeavor even more dangerous. |

Thanks for the link Nuts, I like extra bright but Hyperlights could use some styling. I really am looking for singals that are close to drop in replacements for the stockers... |

Would you be interested in the set that came off my 1190? Were on bike for less than 100 miles and missing 1 bulb. Not LED though.

I'd be interested in the 1190 lights if Harlan doesn't want them. |

Terry--Thanks for he offer. Think I am going to stick with LEDs. I actually like these, although not cheap...still less than the stock turn signals.
For now, I super-glued it back in place and filled the broken rib with silicone glue. And yeah I see marks on the top of the turn signal, so I have been making contact with it. It finally gave up the ghost. |

Honda also uses some NICE (big, bright, relatively well styled) LED signals, on the Africa Twin. Same lights are used on the Super Cub, too. For aftermarket... https://www.motorcycleid.com/sport-bike/universal- led-signal-lights/?url=124553733 |

Least expensive I've found stateside, and it even says "Buell" in the title: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Indicator-Blinke r-Indicators-Kawasaki/dp/B01NAB0GFH Aprilia uses turn signals which are very similar in design to those on the Buell 1125 bikes. Here are a few stateside options: Here are similar offerings direct from China:

I still have the stock rear signals on one of my '08's, and broke one recently. As I imagine most do, it separated at one of the grooves. I did a quickie fix on it with two pieces of thin sheet metal, with one end on either side bent into an intact groove. A couple of tight wraps of black duct tape (the good stuff) and a couple of small black tie wraps to keep the end of the duct tape secure, and I think it will stay in place until my size 14 boot hits it again. And it doesn't look great, but it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. |

Terrys1980, if Xbuell12s doesn't take your lights, shoot me a price. |

Nice work Jon. I super-glued the turn signal back on to hold it in place as I filled the valley of the offending crack with clear silicone. I figured silicone because seems to be create a strong bond and it's flexibile. My plan was to wrap black duct tape like you did after it set up. Zip ties are a nice finishing touch. I figured it would look as you describe--not great but not really noticeable either and based on the general condition of my R, that's fine. Nice writeup. I appreciate your easily understood post. |

Thanks Harlan. A few high school and college instructors kept telling me I was missing my calling by not writing, but I subscribed to the axiom " those that can, do. Those that can't, write about it". The way my back's been acting up lately though, I'm either going to have to find another back doctor or give up something physical. Or something... The pain has been outrageous. (Message edited by Panshovevo on June 11, 2019) |

If you do have to give something up, hopefully it's not riding. Is your back issue related to the wheelie incident? |

My spine's been going to hell for many years, and I had a three level lumbar fusion in 2016. I think the final straw there was straining like hell for ten minutes, reaching across a hydraulic lift table, keeping my 1125CR from falling off of the elevated table when it slipped off of a jack before I got help. The wheelie incident, where I knocked myself off of my first '08 R model in a 1-2 gear shift when the front wheel was already substantially elevated, didn't help things, but a full body CT scan done by the trauma hospital the EMS crew insisted on taking me to, showed no damage. Damn neighbors called 911...I tried to call them off, but a deputy sheriff got there and saw all the blood and insisted on them coming. The wife was out of town with the kids, and I couldn't figure out a way of dealing with the shredded skin on my backside by myself in time to tell them to piss off, so I went along. I had a really hard landing in a small airplane I completed about 12 years ago too. It had an Italian two cylinder two stroke horizontally opposed air-cooled engine that was a work of art, and a masterpiece of ingenuity. It just didn't make the rated power, and additionally, the dual expansion chambers caused a great deal of drag. The exhaust was already welded together and aluminized when I got the partially completed plane. I put weeks into grinding off the hot-sprayed aluminum coating in certain areas, cutting, fitting, and rewelding the pipes and chambers into a semblance of streamlining. When I got it flying, a two seat airplane destined to be an ultra lite trainer (but should have been capable of 110 mph) struggled to do 85 mph in a full throttle dive! In the process of attempting to find more power, the engine quit on me one day, and I landed in a swale just short of the runway. That probably didn't do my cervical spine any good, but I managed to chase off EMS that time. There wasn't much blood. There have been other bike accidents and car accidents in the past, as well as plain old degenerative disc disease (arthritis). It all sucks. (Message edited by Panshovevo on June 12, 2019) |

Yikes, John. So I have to ask. Were you able to save your CR from falling of the lift? |

It was like one of the first rides on my first Harley, a '70 XLCH with the "chopper look" obtained by extending the front end 8" over stock, pullback handlebars, king/queen seat, drag pipes, and more . Handled like crap on it's best day. I was leaning into a gentle turn coming into town at 45 mph, and the blowout patch the former owner had put inside the big hole in the tire blew out. I thought sure I was going down...went into a full fledged tank slapper. But a little voice inside me reminded me of certain things, like this was the Harley I had been wanting for years, and somewhere I found the strength to muscle it to a stop. It was that same little voice that kept me hanging on to the CR when I thought I couldn't hold it another second... but I did it. (Message edited by Panshovevo on June 13, 2019) |
