I’m tired of lowering the triple tail before I could open the top case as the triple tail in the up position interferes with the top case lid. Has anyone cut the triple tail shorter to clear the top box lid? What is the triple tail made of? Lastly, does anyone have an extra triple tail for sale I could buy and experiment with? | ||

Disable the key latch on the triple tail. MUCH simpler - flip up the collar, slide the tail to the side, flip it onto the seat, open the topcase. No key required. | ||

I’ve already done the key latch disable long ago. I still dislike having to flip the triple tail every time I have to open the top box lid. | ||

are you mostly 2 up riding? If not, why not just leave the tail folded down on top of the seat? | ||

I'm considering removing my triple tail altogether. Hardly ever use it. Hardly have a passenger ever. And it does get in the way from time to time. Most of all, I think the rear end of the bike would look so much better without it. I've removed the plastic licsense plate/blinker contraption already. It's a really clean look without all the shit back there. If I don't like the look, I can always bolt it back on. | ||

The rear can be given a nicely finished look by fitting a painted piece of PVC tubing between the two hand rails. | ||

The triple tail weighs 4 lbs 4 ozs. That alone is a good reason to remove it if your not using it. |
