I'm a big fan of Yamaha xs650 projects, came across this one the other day, noticed it has a bit of tuber built into it. https://www.pipeburn.com/home/2018/10/23/yamaha-xs650-cafe.html

Nice find! Funny how something seemingly universal like that swingarm is so recognizable. To us anyway :P |

The shock is mounted backwards. Or is it? |

I think it would have looked better with a steel swing arm. |

Shock is backwards, you can see the reservoir hose on the back. I guess unless there's holes on the back that would let water and crud collect inside, not sure it would really matter. Steel probably would've gone with the bike a little better, but that might've been a little too boxy looking. I think the aluminum pairs well with the fork tubes. Definitely recognizable. When it caught my attention I didn't even notice the shock setup right away, I noticed the main part from the tire back, and it still stuck out to me. |
