Hey all, Seeking knowledge: Yellow is having some probs with her XB9. The gears are sticking, which I think is nothing more than the primary tensioner needing adjustment. Sound right? And her electric fan is ALWAYS running. What's the dealio there? I'm planning on taking it to Uke's for a check-up, but I also know we have a TON of wisdom right here.... |

Hey Don, my first guess would be primary tensioner. Also check and make sure the bolt that holds the shifter on hasn't backed off, as it will cause a similar symptom..... As far as the fan running, it shouldn't run all the time....would have to dig a little deeper to understand that issue though. fun day yesterday! Went to Blackhawk farms with the silver bullet for a track day and burned through a rear tire in one day...beautiful weather and a great day at the track. Then went directly to Great Lakes Drag-a-way with the junkyard dog for the Harley shootout and won the money class and am the points leader! $245 bucks...Don't know what to do with myself, actually making a little money at racing...still have a long way to go before I break even though... |

Running, as in well, running. Whether the engine is very hot or not. It was my understanding that the electric fan would only go on intermittently to cool the engine when air isn't flowing through. Sounds like a computer issue. Like maybe the ECM thinks the engine is hotter than it really is. ...or something like that... |

Don, the fan always runs on shut down, its actually timed based on engine temp. Its also a two stage fan so it will run in high mode for a period of time before switching to low mode... What are everybodies plan for next week and the Buell homecoming? I'll be at R.A. on the motard track (which some un-named buellers refer to as the 'baby track'). Hopefully we will see some people there. |

Don I can go on a short ride around town maybe 5 miles and it will run when I shut down.If I rode like you guys did from Uke's to The Dover Inn. it would most likely run at some given time during the ride for a few moments. That question has been asked many of times on the XBoard. If its running and not shutting off then you got a problem. Wes I'll be there Saturday.I'll look for the Panel truck.Naughty and I will find ya. |

For those interested in riding to blackhawk Sunday, if weather sucks, I'm not racing. call me a fair weather racer, I don't care. We'll still be there but if raining, were packing up and heading home, watch some racing, drink some adult beverages, sittin in the hot tub! guests are always welcome! Have a great weekend everyone! safe riding! M2 |

Just a note to let you know that Hal's has tickets to Road America for sale at $30.00 per day, cash only. So if any of you are freeloading for the weekend and want to pick up tickets for Saturday at Road America, contact a local buddy or Hal's at www.halshd.com and make arrangements to have them either pick up or hold the tickets for you. Enjoy! |

Racer, Me, CJ and Naughty are planning on RA on Saturday. Don't want you to blame us though if you crash! As for the other days during the Homecoming, we'll be joining in some of the festivities on Wed and Thursday and be at Uke's on Friday for Battletrax (go Hellion!). Tom, CJ and I will call before coming on Sunday. If it's raining, which the forecast calls for, we'll assume you're ducking out. Can't say I blame ya. Grape |
