Up for sale is my 2002 Buell S3T Thunderbolt with 37,219 miles. I bought this back in late Sept 2002 at A.D. Farrow HD/Buell in Columbus OH with 743 miles on it. I am the second and current owner since then. It was my main touring bike for many years until 2014 when i bought a newer more refined bike to tour with. I kept the S3T in my fleet as a daily rider for the last 5 years. Now the time has come to try to sell it to make room for something else. I just pulled the bike out of storage and have not ridden it yet. Before i stored it away last fall i changed the engine oil/filter and primary oil both with synthetic and filled the tank with stabilized fuel. I replaced the battery 2 yrs ago with a deka big crank that is always connected to a battery tender while the bike is not in use. The bike is mostly stock with the exception of a Supertrap slip-on muffler, K&N air filter in gutted stock air-box with venturi ring, and a Buell race ECM. There is an external Jaz breather/catch can tucked behind the left leg fairing to control the oil mist. I installed a Buell quest GPS on the right handlebar and a 12V power port on the left side of the dash, both from a Buell Ulysees. The windscreen is a Zero Gravity tall touring screen. Other than that the bike has many of the Buell accessories from back in the day. Items such as the engine cooilng fan, traction hand grips, axle nut covers, frame hole covers, sprocket cover, and Buell select seat with orange piping. The only thing i plan to remove from the bike are the PIAA lights to put on another bike. The tires are a couple years old now and have around 3k miles on them. The bike just passed NY state inspection late last summer. The only bad thing about the bike is that the inner saddlebags developed the typical stress cracks at the upper mounting points. I glued them with PVC cement last fall but they should probably be permanently repaired with the fiberglass mat method that you can find posted here in the knowledge vault. Asking price is $3,800 but i am open to serious offers. Send a PM if you are interested. Thank you.

Very tempting. Favorite color, and I do miss my S2...but I should *probably* focus on my Defender restoration. Probably. Grr... |

I really like that color combination... and it doesn’t have the “Polish Me” wheels! Hav you had to replace the front engine mount? Rear shock? My wife’s got a birthday coming up... would this be a great surprise? |

Woodnbow- Thank you for your inquiry. I replaced the front upper engine isolator about 5 years ago. The shock has never leaked so i have never had to replace it. Will send you a PM shortly. |

Thank you. I've actually been riding it recently while i've been repairing one of my other bikes. I put a little over 300 miles on it in the last month. Had to replace a faulty kickstand switch, luckily i had a good spare. The problem is the more i ride it the more i think about keeping it. |

This is not really an intentional bump. Just a courtesy post letting people know that i have decided to keep my Buell and sell my Triumph Sprint GT instead. I know this isn't the place to post a non Buell bike. It should be on Cycle trader in a day or two if anyone is interested.

I've had an S3 and currently own a Sprint GT. The GT is quite the bike, I wouldn't let mine go. Add a Corbin seat, a Trident canister, an updated voltage regulator and you've got a bike that will tour continents just as fast as you can stand to go. A wonderful bike. You are correct, it's quite the motorcycle. However i also have a 2016 Yamaha FJ-09 that can do almost everything the Sprint can do. I test rode a new Triumph Speed Twin and a Yamaha XSR900 a couple weeks ago when i was down south on vacation. I really need to make room for a naked heritage type of fun bike. |

The Triumphs sell a lot faster than the Buells do, that's for sure. I'm sure you made somebody happy. Here's my retirement gift to myself, not for sale.

No it is not for sale. Someone found and commented on the old post which bumped it back to the top. Thank you for your inquiry though. |
