Just got my "New" EBR 1125R clutch actuator in the mail. Okay, it was not "New"! You can clearly see that it was a used part. Not to say, I wouldn't have purchased the part from them, knowing it was a 'New take off part", which I would have! The fact that they are selling, "New takeoff" stock, as new stock, just leaves me with a bad taste in my wallet. Plus, there were no orings installed on actuator, or instruction on where the orings need to go. Not that I can't figure out where they go, it would have been nice to have a photo. If you got it from EBR, it HAS to be a mistake. Return it and get the Oberon. It's 1000% worth it. | ||

I got it from EBR. I was trying to save $40 bucks and support EBR. What are the differences between the EBR vs Oberon? Other than Oberon doesn't sell used stuff as new. | ||

EBR has a lot of parts available that are identified as having been installed in a power train, test run, then disassembled and sold for about half price. If you paid new price and got a “previously installed” part, a mistake was made, and I would expect them to make it right. I missed out on some of the more desirable parts, like Carillo rods, titanium tulip valves, and more. | ||

I had almost exactly HALF the clutch pull on the EBR on a luggage scale after putting it in. I like it almost as much as the quick shifter! I have heard that. 651Lance said Oberon will only fit 09/10 clutch covers and not 08. | ||

...aaah very early '08s had a clutch cover recall...I think?...the early covers with Oberon cylinders will not have any "room" for the round "inspection cover" to fit into the early cover. The Oberon cylinder extends all the way to the "edge" of the inspection cover area and the "lip" of the inspection cover has no where to go (in)...I'm currently trying to resolve the problem on mine ( note the two tapped holes in the cover...they align with location/tooling/ejection pin material in the covers casting ...allowing for a blind tapped hole(s)...the the other tiny holes on the periphery of the inspection cover hole are tapped for set screws used to retain the inspection cover (I had the HD repair part installed AND the inspection cover has room to be installed)) ...as the "o ring" tension design didn't work to well after you lay the bike down ( the two little set screws tighten in on the O-ring groove or gland of the cover)...the HD repair cylinder for clutch weep will work in the early covers AND allow for the inspection cover to be installed ) does the Oberon work better than the HD repair part...yes...did it solve my finding neutral issue? No...my modification of the Barnett plates did work and I am currently testing it to make sure the clutch remains reliable ( doesn't slip) and I can still shift into neutral...hth   | ||

If I recall, they changed to Rev B late in the 08 MY or like what Nutz said they had a clutch weep recall (or both.) IDK. Long time ago. I do believe there are '08s with Rev B covers. @Nutz--Did you ever consider grinding the material off the back of the cover and using some clear silicone and glue it on? I imagine that mine is a rev B cover as my serial is in the high 4000’s. It was doing the drip, drip, drip thing so I replaced it with an Oberon while also adding a longer hydraulic clutch line. The original/smaller puck went right back on with no issues as well so it may not be necessary. This the first bike I’ve had with a hydrualic clutch and after the repair I doubt that I’ll ever buy another bike without one. Single finger pulls are very nice. | ||
