Wow, that was a quick response...thanx CJ...yeah we,ve narrowed this down to the blast, ninja 250 and sv650. Each seems to have its good and bad points. The blast just seems to sit me perfectly from a balancing standpoint. It's really hard to make a decision. But the dealer is knocking 500$ off MSRP and throwing in a helmet. |

I had a blast and the only problem I had was a kinked vent hose. I had it for a year and used it mainly to commute to and from work. Never had any problems in the short time I owned it. Great bike, but I outgrew it for an XB, wish I could have afforded to keep it. Maybe one day I'll buy another one. Have to teach the kids how to ride on something and my smallest one loved it. I'm gonna get them hooked on Buell's early. |

The new store is up. Go to the A.S.B. site to see, but don't use the link from here. I need to get Blake to fix that first. Just go to http://www.americansportbike.com, and then enter the store at the top. Constructive criticism welcome. Lots more good to come, including lots of new products that were waiting for the new store before getting them on there. Al |

Al - I like it, seems easier to navigate. I like the model photo icons. You might want to transpose the XB pictures, on the bottom of the first page, with the pictures of the S1 and S2. Probably use a more tricked out XB9R. Something more on the first page about the other bikes you carry parts for too. |

Witch1, I have almost 11,000 miles on Baby, my Blast. She's a 2000, and so we went through the 3k mile rocker gasket leak. That said it's also the last thing I've had happen to it. They do have a healthy appetite for rear tires but that's about the extent of it. Personally, I love the handling and since my preference has always been for lower reving torquey motors, I like it more than I would have the 250 Ninja, and now that I've gotten used to how quick it is into the curves I can't imagine riding the Savage. More info is to be had in the Thumper forum here. Eric |

Actually there are only two sites actively bashing the Blast, both ran by the same person - lol - they pop up close to the top of the list because there are not that many sites on Blasts in the first place, most are Dealer adds, reviews from online mag.s, and misc., that said: The Blast is a great bike! Will impart nothing but good riding habits, and is nothing but fun to ride! Welcome! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ |

Jerry, Has he thought about setting up a paypal account? |

Hootowl, I had considered setting up a paypal account, the only downside is the percentage they take from the payments. If there is enough interest, I'll toss out my paypal info so money can be sent there. If any of you are interested in patches, shoot me an email and I'll get them packaged up for you. Blake, The past few weeks have been very very busy, which explains the lack of updates to the Tales Section thread. This evening I have a benefit dinner scheduled, with somewhere around 100 people attending that. I've also been busy with some phone interviews for newspapers, and working on contacting dealerships along my route. This weekend I'm off to visit with Matt, take him out for a spin and get some pictures for the newspapers. Thanks to all for your support, can't wait to meet you all along the way. Alex |

>>>I'll get them packaged up for you. FRIENDLY HINT: Get someone who is willing to take over receiving patch payments and sending them out. If not, it will detract from what you are doing. You need to be focused on the ride, it'll soon be serious, all-consuming business. Ferris?.....ohhhhhhhhhhhh Ferris? |

i'm the last person that needs to be put in charge of someone else's money (but i'd take on this task willingly if necessary). the address i posted above is actually Alex's parents, and i assume THEY are physically going to handle this aspect of the program? FB |

Bomber, as Court might say, "Thanks a-mundo!" for the backup, much appreciated. still, i'd rather not be collecting other folks' $$, and i'll leave that at that. on the other hand, i've pledged to help Alex any way i can, and if you folks would trust me to do the job right, i'd take it on. i'm sure Alex will let us know what he needs, as soon as he gets another chance to come up for air, that is. thanks again, Bomber. |

I believe paypal payments are free to accept, as long as you ONLY accept bank withdrawals, NOT credit card payments (the paypal payment can't be funded by a credit card) It sure would be easier than dealing with a bunch of checks. $.02 Jeff |

Court/Bomber/Jerry/et. al: The mailing address I provided is my parent's place, my dad will be handling mailing all of the patches and the associated paperwork. I'm confident this will provide him some entertainment between the O'Reilly factor and when he and mom challenge each other in Jeapordy. Hootowl, I just signed up for the personal Paypal account, that should be up and running in a day or three. I'll post the email addy for that when I have confirmation that it is working right. Alex |
