Oh I can see several Democrats telling Hillary that they would love to unveil her as their veep running mate at the perfect moment in their campaign. It's the only way to make her go away and not begin massive efforts to destroy them. But actually having Hillary stand behind you? That is like asking for suicide assistance. What is the life expectancy of President whoever with Clinton as their veep? 100 days? First flight in Marine One? Or does she get a fresh, new, Air force One after the mysterious crash? I'm not a law student, but I honestly don't see how this is possible. Our nation's framework says "electoral college". You don't get to just...ignore it. Do you? I can see a sitting President, sometime in the near future (not necessarily our current President, since he has respect for the laws of this nation, but more likely our next Democrat president), simply refuse to abdicate the position at the end of their term. It's going to get ugly. "I want it this way" has globally superseded the rule of law. | ||

I don't understand why, if your state's voters voted green, why you would want your representatives in the electoral college to vote yellow. I want mine to represent my state's vote, not that of other states. Talk about your vote not counting! | ||

My understanding from that article - and I'd have to do some more research, but I suspect this is correct because I live in MD and nobody asked ME about this... - is that these states are simply deciding (decreeing) that this is how it will be. It's not a voter-input decision, it's a legislature-driven decision where they're simply deciding that they're going to suck up to the DNC in the hopes of not putting three bullets in the backs of their own heads... They don't care about the voters. They don't care about our actual choices. They don't care about the Republic we live in. All they care about is the power grab - at any cost. | ||
