Hatred will make you do stupid evil things. This guy had all kinds of good things going for him. Threw it all away to satisfy his hatred. Really sad. Deserved, but sad.

According to CNN, "A charge of disorderly conduct has been approved against "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett, according to an email from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. Filing a false police report is disorderly conduct, according to Illinois code. Disorderly conduct is a class 4 felony, the State's Attorney Office says. A bail hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CT Thursday."
I want to see him in custody tonight. Let him sit in jail like any of the rest of us would have to do till after the bail hearing tomorrow. There should be a police/SWAT raid tonight. I want to see the charges from the postal side of all this.

I also hope the Feds rake him over the coals as well, for the death-threat/white powder MAGA letter that pre-dated the "attack" by a week (and apparently didn't get him the results he wanted, prompting the attack idea)...

Flash bangs would be a nice touch. Just to let him know that when there is a warrant out for you and you have knowledge of it, it is easier to turn yourself in. I hope he shows up for the bail hearing, makes bail, and is scooped up at the door by the Feds.

"THIS IS MAGA COUNTRY"....in Chicago??
That was my first tip. That, and in a city with how many thousands of cameras, there was zero footage of the "attack"?
I'm about sick of this "Trump's USA is a racist USA" bullshit. I voted for our President, and I'm glad I did. And, I could care less what color someone is - if you're a decent person, you're a decent person. If you're a putz, you're a putz. Skin color has ZERO influence on that - it's all your personality. YOUR choice. NOT the result of your melanin levels.
And if you hide behind melanin - either its abundance, or it's absence - then SHAME. ON. YOU.

I've been reading "Miller's Bolt". It is a strange way of learning management lessons by reading a story. One of the lessons out of many in the book is how you perceive people and it's effect on how they live up to your expectations of them. It is a good read.
Another lesson deals with how management skills are useful in your personal life.
>>>>> Let him sit in jail like any of the rest of us would have to do till after the bail hearing tomorrow.
This confuses me. If this were you or I . . . cops would be at our door . . . ignore all the silly S.W.A.T. talk . . . arresting us. We wouldn't get a "turn yourself in at your convenience".
It's this "different law for different folks" that has/is eroding many folks' respect for the law.
It's this "different law for different folks" that has/is eroding many folks' respect for the law.
To be fair, when I was arrested I bonded out in about 12 hours, then had total freedom for the 10 months while I fought my case. Then, when I was convicted, I was given the privilege of staying home for 2 more months so I could spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family before turning myself in on January 5 to serve my prison term.
It. Cost. Me. A. Lot. Of. Money.
I'm not a celebrity, but I was able to lessen the impact on my family with great expenditures. Somebody with lesser means would not have been able to do it. They'd have sat in the county jail the whole time and then gone to prison from there.
That is likely to prove difficult. This morning the new showed a picture of him and the Nigerian brothers, from surveillance video, buying the cloths they wore for the "attack". I'd bet that when push comes to shove, his lawyers will try to plea it down as much as they can.
In a statement released after Smollett was charged, his attorneys said he "enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked.", Peacock News In the court of public opinion(his lawyers can bite my hiney) The false information has been Smullet's words.
And I 'm not certain anyone's guilt or innocence of a function of the quality or quantity of information leaked.
In my mind . . . he committed a hate crime loosely defined as
"a crime which occurs when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her membership (or perceived membership) in a certain social group or race."
Hate crimes carry a significantly stiffer penalty and I think Mr. Smollett should be subject to all of those.
I'm just amused by the left's penchant for crying when someone like Smollett is "convicted in the court of public opinion", and when information is "leaked"...but when things like the Covington kids happen, and all the leaks out of the FBI happen...oh, well, we'll just change the subject and pretend it doesn't happen.
To me, he commited a hate crime against supporters of our President by smearing "their" (speaking of a group, not an individual) actions against him, a gay black man. Can't really pursue libel since he didn't go after "A" person...but he still smeared an entire demographic.
And then there's the federal charges I hope we see, for the fake death threat letter, transported through our US Postal Service. I suspect we'll see a bombshell there, since there has been ZERO mention of it in all the releases and articles to date...other than the initial "the Postal Inspectors are on the job" stories when it happened.
Not to mention the wasted time, money, and personnel resources of the Chicago PD to investigate all this crap.
He should be sentenced for a hate crime. For Federal mail fraud. He should do time, and on his way into GenPop he should have to pay for all the wasted resources for Chicago PD out of his own pocket.
Maybe - and this is borderline sterotypical of me - as a gay black man, his ultimate goal IS to end up in GenPop. Either way, I suspect his career is over - unless the SJWs pull a Kapaernick on us and turn him into some sort of "oppressed hero"...
I'd need to be convinced as to why he would not be prosecuted.
I've read this a couple times . . .
"a crime which occurs when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her membership (or perceived membership) in a certain social group or race."
It was a crime.
He was targeted because he was black and gay (his words)
Seems to meet the criteria . . . . shame the idiot did it himself but I am not reading any "who commits it" exclusions.
Perhaps the law is worded differently than this rough definition.
He's done millions of $$ in damages . . . actual and incidental and committed immeasurable social injustice.
I don't think it's because he's gay or black . . . I think he qualifies as genuinely stupid.
