I love my 9S but the ergonomics of the bars make my wrists/hands go numb and cause extreme pain. I am looking for bars that are dirtbike style, that allow my knuckles to face straight forward instead of turned out. Don't want them any lower or farther forward. Anyone have any ideas of have made this swap?

I got it. Go to archives thru May 22. Then click on "new bars for my xb12s" . Hope this helps.

use the larger grips.
eg. buell traction grips.
the small grips have a more piercing effect.
this works on jap bikes just as well, they will tell you the same thing.

I have found that if I don't support my weight with my arms (it's not proper form to do so anyway) then no bike gives me any pain.

I have had this problem as well. Several things that helped are:
1. Vibration dampers in bars: I made my own by inserting 7" x 1/2" diameter lead rods wrapped in 1/8" sorbothane. This helps alot. Similiar to Fasst Company Anti-vibration Bar inserts.
2. Sport-Tek gloves: reduce carpal tunnel effect
3. remove standard mirrors.
4. Use Buell Soft grips.

I'm just wondering, do the bars on xb-s pass on vibrations more than the clipons on a xb-r?

I have those same bars on my 9s and I love them.Bads1 did you shorten them because I had to reroute my throttle cables thru the right side housing they are a little too wide.

Johnny actually I shortened them about 1/2 inch on both sides and I didn't have to reroute the cables what so ever.
