BTW- now they're reporting that Mr. Phillips did not, in fact, serve in Vietnam. He apparently served in the Marines during the time we were still in Vietnam, but he never actually went to Vietnam. Of course the MSM had been stating "Vietnam veteran" in all their stories. | ||

Not that I am big on defending them . . . but, it can be a bit confusing. The National Defense Medal was awarded to anyone who served DURING Viet Nam . . . .I got one in the United States Marine Corps . . . it was jokingly called the "Fire watch Medal". But I did not serve IN Viet Nam . . . in fact, I never left the Commanding General's office at MCRD San Diego . . . While I qualify, and am, a "Viet Name Era" veteran . . I did NOT serve in Viet Nam . . . pretty much by pure luck of the draw. The media has screwed so much up lately . . . that this one is pedestrian. | ||

I have to give credit for the VERY FEW reporters and even Scott Adams (Dilbert cartoonist) who acknowledged having jumped to conclusions. The MSM in their rush-to-hate have sounded more like the KKK with their willingness to bash the "evil" Catholics - with the half minute video of the kids facing the Indian activist taken out of context of the whole 2 hour event. I saw two images of Prince Philip at the birth of his THIRD child, taken at the same moment in time from two different perspectives. Both are "news" depending on the context. Reporters can create a fake context if they're too lazy to do their job. We allow the perpetuation of the fake context when WE'RE too lazy to check sources and allow ourselves to get sucked in. MSM laziness gave us the evil MAGA hat-wearing Catholic High School kids seeking out and confronting the poor veteran indian. Prince William showing his hateful gesture?  | ||

Yes, any reasonably competent bull artist could have, with ease. In any normal election Donald would have been a perfect loser. But you were all in for Hillary. And there was that small matter of the head of the FBI listing her felonies, then announcing she was beyond the law. Which you counted as a win. You might even have been able to lie your way around the known felonies, but then her Stark Life Model Decoy malfunctioned in public repeatedly. Or she was very ill. We'll never know which because you lied about it. Badly. You can only get away with "who you going to believe? Me or your lying eyes?" so many times, and your credibility was gone after calling every Republican politician , voter, and their pickup truck, Hitler. Because we knew we weren't. Have you all been listening the the Attorney who has given EVERY media outlet 48 hours for a complete retraction before he files libel suits on behalf of all the students, the ones who were there, not there, school staff and all those "potentially impacted". Libel is cool . . . you only have to prove negligence (easy) not malice or intent (difficult). A first year law student could prove negligence in the instant case. | ||

I have reservations when people are held to different standards of truthfulness based on their job or position. Even as it applies to talking to the police; (they can tell me a lie but I am not allowed to lie to them). I am not looking for an equal right to lie. Quite the opposite, I want the person in authority to not be allowed to lie. A friend of mine at 7 years old was lied to and got in trouble for something they did not do. It changed their behavior after that. They confided in me that if they had to pay for what they did not do, they saw no reason to not do it or whatever they wanted to do. It was an interesting twisting of someone that always attempted to behave prior to the incident. | ||

Unfortunately, the court system has become as corrupt as any, with bigotry of all kinds in the mix, right from your local traffic court, up to the SCOTUS. You may get a fair shake, you may not. In a jury, as single person, acting out of spite, or sympathy, can upend justice. It happens all the time. Justice for a white male wearing a MAGA hat??? In the real world, I can only caution not to cheer until each struggle is actually over. After 2 years of "a source we made up dropped the Bombshell that guarantees Trump will be impeached next week" stories, the Media cheers are obviously propaganda . But Trump Fans have to beware they too aren't getting stupidly emotional over things that haven't yet, and may never happen. We don't get know how the "shutdown" ploy will play out. BOTH sides claim moral and tactical victory before the results are in. And while I'm convinced that the Leftist Moral claims are Satanic lies that the Church of Satan would condemn as evil. ( they're already talking about suing folk that take Satan's name in vain by comparing him to Pelosi ) I'm not completely convinced that Republican leadership isn't a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rothschild family, either. I normally reject such idiocy as paranoid thinking, but it sure can be hard to tell between incompetence and deliberate sabotage. And Trump? While I want him to win this one, if only to humiliate my Senator, he may be correct & well reasoned on this subject, or just gaming it for other purposes. How can you tell? So... I spent way too much time today and listened to a New York Times podcast, called "The Daily" about this incident. Never did they correct the record. Instead they moved from "the kids assaulted the Indian" to "you could see this any number of ways". Fact appears to be that they . . . and about everyone else . . including all the right wing media outlets. . . were dead wrong. I'm amazed that . . .even in the face of overwhelming facts . . . folks continue to push a false narrative AND so many follow right along. Amazing times. | ||

I had the opportunity for a face to face discussion about this just last week. It's been a few years since I've done that in person, but WTH. He got on to calling Republicans Nazis. I pointed out that Nazis originated as socialists in Germany. Complete denial! It's such a break from reality that it's actually hard to keep on track. At one point I mentioned the situation in Venezuela. That was met with "why would you even bring that up?". Perhaps because it's the latest major socialist experiment. I pointed out that South and Central America are full of failed socialist countries. He said he didn't know much about South American history. At one point he went off on the minimum wage. I just asked him when was the last time he worked for minimum wage. He never provided that answer. I told him that I worked for minimum wage in about 1976. For 6 weeks! I've got to ask him what his education is. He looks to be at least in his 60s. Entertaining but scary! |
