Simple question....I'm thinking of getting the full length carbon fiber frame protectors/covers for my XB9S. I have a yellow one and I was wondering if anyone seen a yellow one with those on? How did it look? Any pictures? Thanks guys. |

Is the carbon fiber on the XB12S different from the one on the XB9R? It looks different in the picture. |

The XB12's have the graphite grey frame color so in the picture, it blends in with the dark carbon fiber. That's why it looks different. The pieces are the same. If you are spending that kind of cash, pay the shipping. I don't think anyone makes those in the US. Did you check the American Sportbike website? Mike. |

Yeah, I checked the American Sport Bike web page and didn't see them. I sent them an email asking if they had them or could get them. |

I'll check for you tomorrow and get back to you. Damn, I need all my parts books and stuff in two states, 3 locations now! Dave The best part of this road trip is when I was hooking the trailer up with Terry, the owner of Appleton, he handed me a wad of $20s and said he'd cover my gas for the trip and there was extra in there and I was ordered to take Penny out somewhere nice(like they let me in anyplace nice)for dinner on him. I told him he didn't have to do that as it was only about 70 miles out of my way(I was coming home to Iowa anyway) and he wouldn't take no for an answer. He said the dinner on him was to help make up for Penny having to be without me all week while he has me in Wisconsin. What a cool boss! Took Penny to Applebee's this afternoon for a late lunch. edited by Daves on May 24, 2004 |

Daves - I missed you this morning. Got up too late. What are your regular hours? I'll get in touch with you towards the end of the week. I've got several other things besides the Carbon Fiber Frame Protectors that I need/want as well. |

I have seen crash results of the knee pucks glued on to the frame. They werent impressive. The pucks sheared off and the bike gas tank got messed up pretty bad. The beauty of the Trojan frame sliders is they protect your tank from your handlebars when you crash. The #1 thing I have seen on the XB frames is they get dented when the handlebar hits the gas tank. |

The frame protectors on the yellow XB12S are in a larger weave than the ones on the 9R in the picture. We can do both. The yellow XB9R bodywork is all carbon fibre that has been painted, with the black stripes being the carbon weave showing through.
