Lake, very cool, can you also find the link to the write-up about the Buell festivities at the Seattle IMS that went along with this photo? there was also one other pic in the piece. i used to have the URL written down somewhere (probably still do..) but that's been several years and several moves ago. thanks for the help! (and ping me a snail address for your reward). |

FB....keep the reward. You can buy me a tasty beverage someday when we finally meet. I found the pictures using archive.org. It was easy searching for images. I'm not sure about finding the rest of the stuff. |

ok, it was easy enough to sleuth the URL of the other pic from the address above: that's Buell's Amy Giuffre in the middle. now for the link to the page that had the write-up and both pix... |

Lake, EXCELLENT! i've been so busy bs'n with my cuzzin' i missed your post above!!! it's been several years since i've seen that page -- it sure brings back great memories, and ties in to this pic that i already posted: this was shot at our lunch stop at Cafe Veloce in Kirkland. the place is cool, with Italian motorcycles hanging on display everywhere, definitely a sportbike rider's kind of place. we had about 30 people there for lunch, and i got the bright idea of putting a Buell sticker on the bike behind us (in the shot above) and grabbing a quick pic. the group literally GASPED when they saw me put the sticker on this beautifully restored motorcycle, but what they DIDN'T know was that i had only exposed about a 1/10th of an inch of the adhesive, barely enough to get the sticker to stay in place. got a chuckle from everybody afterwards, and believe me when i say i checked to make sure the coast was clear before i pulled this stunt. it was a great day -- Buell got us all into the IMS for free and an hour before the doors opened to the general public. Destination H-D/Buell in Tacoma set us up with an S1 for our featured guest Roger Roeszler to ride, and altho it was a cold group ride across Lake Washington (Seattle in January? go figure...), we had an absolute riot. Lake, thanks again for the link, it means a bunch to me. if you won't take the $20, ping me with your snail address anyway, as i've got a couple cool Buell goodies i'll gladly send your way. ride to lean, FB |

FB...No problem. I enjoy going back into the Buell archives on occasion. There is some fun stuff if you spend the time. I use www.archive.org to get into the old sites. Later, Dennis edited by lake_bueller on May 22, 2004 |

here'a a treasured memento from our gig at the IMS that day: it's a Yellowjacket Pearl S2 Thunderbolt front fender, signed by all the participants, including Roger Roeszler Amy Giuffre and Reg Kittrelle AND, before the powers-that-be at Buell wised up about the dubious marketing potential of yours truly, they were actually silly enough to issue things like THIS: those were indeed halcyon days. (look it up ) |

I've done some riding with Roger. He's a great fountain of Buell knowledge. Not sure if he's still there but he was in the Brew City BRAG club out of Hal's. I was the chapter director before moving to Green Bay. |

Roger took me in on my first visit to Sturgis, offered to put me up at his place in Rapid City (this was before he moved to Wisconsin), and showed me the fast way thru the Black Hills to Nemo (truth be told, he spanked me VERY badly that day...) during the IMS weekend above he came over to my motel room after dinner on Saturday night, the place packed with Buell enthusiasts, and happily fielded questions for several hours from the faithful. he's a great guy, and a good friend. if you ever run into him again, ask about the time Tracy got him out of a HUGE speeding ticket (or, more likely, jail time) by feigning pregnancy. |

Roger Roeszler, third from right, and the Buell Brothers Racing Team, back when 150 mph at Bonneville on a Buell was a BIG deal. |

hey cuz, here's a bone for you -- remember this? folks, ol' Buellnuts made this for me way back when, and the amount of work that it must have taken to craft this intricate sculpture out of a plate of mondo steel staggers me to this day. Bob, i'm honored to have this hanging in my garage, and i hope YOU are honored to see it here. ps to Pdx: your is MINE, pal! pss to Denise: yours, too! |

crappy work? you're too humble. this'll sound like major sucking up, but i never seen ANYTHING that you had a hand in -- riding, wrenching, house remodeling, or just being a good human -- that was anything less than first-class, and this piece is no exception. (and damn if it ain't heavy with lots of pointy things on it -- a person could get HURT trying to hang it on their garage wall!) i agree, i think there were three total, and i remember that the other two were given out as door prizes at one of the SPLASH runs. Thang, that'd be cool, would save me a few bucks, and get me one step closer to getting that pesky Fireman feller off my fanny. |

hey cuzzin', here's one ya ain't seen in a while! this is a pic taken by an employee at Doyle's Buell in Eugene, Oregon of the TV in their lunchroom, which happens to show televised footage (SPEED TV, perhaps?) of one Bob Gussenhoven and yours truly cheering on Kristine Becker during the All-Harley drags during Sturgis Bike Week. yeah, i know, you kinda have to use your imagination, but trust me, it's us. so there ya go, cuz, a shot of you during the "good ol' days" -- why, i think you're even wearing a Buell shirt in the pic! |

so where does YOUR Buell spend the night when you grab a motel room during a road trip? mine sleeps next to me, natch. this is on the way to the first Blue Groove, and yes, you had to climb over the bike to get to the bathroom. do you know that a Gideon's bible makes a great kickstand pad??? |
