So I drive about an hour 1 way to and from work. Rode fine into work this morning. Left work and noticed a little wobble here and there. Figured it was just wind. I'm 5'2" and 115lbs so it's not uncommon for me. About 30 min into my drive I had to pull over bc it started feeling weird. 15 min more and pulled over again bc it kept feeling like it was wobbling back and forth and there was a weird rattle sound. 5 min later after I turn on the long stretch home it is very noticeable and is really concerning me. I cant figure out what's going on. Guy was nice enough to follow me with his flashers on and I'm going 20mph and the wobble is very noticeable. Turning feels very off. As I got closer to home I coasted to rule out my engine and it was still doing it. Noticed a rear wheel weight might be missing. I'm thinking maybe the wheel bearings are going out and a buddy of mine said possible some bearing around the triple tree. Idk? I dont have any way to really get it off the ground and honestly I'm not really sure if there is something simple I may be missing?... |

First, check your tire pressures and their condition. Low pressure can cause a wobble, as can a tire that has become 'distressed' from mileage or impact with a pothole, ect.
Sit on the bike, or have someone do that while you or they look, and with the engine off and the trans in neutral, apply the front brake and rock the bike back and forth. Look for movement at the lower triple clamp, listen for a clunk. Investigate if either occurs.
With the bike on the sidestand, grab hold of the rear wheel at the top and wiggle side to side. Should be no movement. Then do the same at the back of the wheel, and look for movement at the wheel/axle, and at the swingarm/frame. Again, should be no movement.
Finally, go the home page here, sign in, and go to B.R.A.N., and look for a fellow Bueller near you who may be willing to help.
Let us know what you find.

Thank you! I had to take it to the shop. I felt it was the rear bearings so I ordered them. I check my tire pressure regularly and that was one of the first things i checked. I had already ordered the rear tire and was scheduled to get it replaced that weekend. Long story short.. it was the rear bearings. But thank you for your response bc now I know how to check all of that. |

How many miles did you get on the rear bearings |

I would subtract 5000 miles off that total for a safety margin. Then that would be a good time to change this new set. |

I think they were stock bearings and I think that was right at 10,000 miles. I try to update if I can. I'm still new to this site and trying to navigate it. Haha |
