Hey all, I have been out of the buying/selling market for a while. What is the going sale price on a 2001 X1? 12k miles, race kit, banke parts, more extras and in excellent condition. Thank you!

Depends on how fast you want it to sell. But lower than it should be in almost every case. Best way to make a small fortune selling Buells is to start with a large fortune. |

The seat, pegs axle covers & Banke gear is worth 600ish... |

I agree, if you have the original parts I'd put them on, sell the stuff mentioned above separately. They're all nice parts but they're not gonna increase the selling price of the bike much. overall... I'd say $3000ish? |

And for god's sake get that wrap off the header before it starts to crack the stainless... |

I also have an ‘02 completely stock X1 except for Corbin seat, a K&N air filter, Vance Hines can and race ECM. The bike has just shy of 2700 miles. (Yes, 2700) Runs great. Just had Chris Rivas in Fresno, CA fix fuel regulator and make sure it’s up to his specs. Mine is near flawless. Yellow plastics. This one looks amazing. Good job for keeping it up. Wish these were selling for more. |

Mrred7, Sounds very nice! I don't understand why these bikes don't generate more demand. They are unique, fun, an American-made v-twin sport bike that is out of business. I will add this to the many mysteries of my life. I would think nice examples would be in high demand. Buell needs a Magnus Walker type to release a short movie and drive up the cache like the air-cooled porcshe market. |

Thank you all for your input on values. Ratbuell, I didn't know that was a concern. Mea Culpa. I would definitely not want to damage the headers! |

Ms01x1, You hit the nail on the head when you said "out of business". Most people these days use autos/bikes as disposable items and not take the time to repair/maintain like the cars/bikes of old. The low price these bikes get, even with basically the same drivetrain as the HD sportster, is all because the average buyer sees "out of business" and think they cant get replacement parts all that easy. |

Especially a race header. The wrap holds heat in the stainless, making it extremely brittle and prone to crack damage. (not to mention that, to me anyway, they look like something that belongs on a mummy, not a sportbike). |

Falloutnl, Everything has it's time and season. This is my third X1, starting with a millennium X1 in the early 2000's. I have had this one for 10 years. If I kept everything that was a nice example I would still be driving my 1984 Toyota Celica from high school. That car was mint! I think of my ownership of these things as that of a custodial role. I buy from someone that cherished it, I cherish it and care for it, then pass it on to the next guy/gal to enjoy. I road it once last year, 2x the year before that and zero times this year. Other things demand my time and attention. At this stage I would rather have the garage space and one less thing to maintain. (Message edited by mn01x1 on September 27, 2018) |

Fair enough Mn01x1. I'm still at that stage where I can't fathom letting go of my tube frame Buells. Though maybe if they break often enough :P... |
