TPS Trouble shooting involves a breakout box so you might want to take it in. |

Don't know that was taken from the XB service manual. |

It means that the ecm is not getting an "acceptable" voltage from the Throttle Position Sensor. You might be able to find a loose connection but the TPS more likely needs to be calibrated. To the best of my knowledge that means having your local Buell shop use their Digital Technician on it. I think the shop manual is about 50 bucks & worth every penny. |

Dean, Plan on a trip to your nearest dealership. I realize that may be a 200 mile trip each way for you. Plenty of discussion on this, no immediate alternative yet that I have heard of. Well, you could convert it to a carb, but that opens up a whole 'nuther can of worms. |

mike, i have a saturday appointment at kenai peninsula HD to have both ECM's TPS values reset. quote from service manager " well if its running MAYBE YOU DONT WANT US TO DO ANYTHING TO IT, IT MIGHT RUN WORSE" thats a real confidence builder. |

Well, at least they were up front about it. I take it you'll have alternative backup transportation home in case their confidence is well deserved? |

I wouldn't go near that dealer with a service manager with an attitude like that. I hope that isn't your only dealer option. |

It means they are not using the DT correctly. You also can't just borrow one either, it has to log into HDnet in order to operate. Atleast that was the complaint about the DT at MMI, that they had classes get canceled for a day because HDnet was down and they couldn't teach with it. |

Those guys need to put some money into training. I think I'd go 300 miles in the OTHER direction. Good luck |

I suggest only getting the race ecm reset initially and go for a test ride keeping the stock ecm as a spare for backup. IF they do a good job on the race ecm at least you can get home on that if they then stuff up the stock ecm reset. |
