http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/Northeast/05/16/parade.accident.ap/index.html I hate when I read stuff like this! It gives motorcycling a bad rep. There's no mention of the rider's ability, but I imagine it was probably your everyday squid...not a pro. Showing off is just not all it's cracked up to be. |

Man that sucks, sure hope those kids will be okay. Crap like that pisses me off. If you want to risk injuring yourself fine, no one should be doing anything like this when others can be put at risk. If you want to show off, do it in a controlled environment where you can gurantee others safety. edited by southernmarine on May 16, 2004 |

no charges pressed. I have stood beside children as Bubba Blackwell crept by standing up maintenance throttling and applying the front brake with his left hand doing a rolling burn out slapping the hands of the onlookers, as he passed, with his right hand. I remember having the thought... what a liability. But, where else is he supposed to show off if not in front of children and childish people like me. I was riding in a parade on time and a guy with an old Ural with a drive-wheel sidecar nearly lost it into a crowd with the side hack balancing in the air... he was drunk. If something had happened, he should have gone to jail. The article doesn't say anything about the way this guy lost control... let's not fry him yet. |

I wonder if the stunt was part of the parade. If so, he may not have charges brought against him. The city may be liable for damages though. |

WTF??? Add insult to injury! What's a picture of a PRO, in a controlled environment (a race for crying out loud!), doing what he supposed to be doing, next to the crash story? That's how the media likes to twist reality. |

I almost wish there was some way you could contact someone about his picture being used like that. Cause I'm sure Max or even his sponsors would be pretty pissed. I don't think you could actually sue over it but at least get the picture taken down. |

They could at least get a cease and desist, or make them print a retraction. |
