Media Bias: A New Chart By Sharyl Attkisson - Aug 28, 2018
Where’s your favorite information source stand on the political scale?
I’ve updated the following subjective chart based on information compiled from various sources and your feedback. Some sources have shifted left or right, others have been added including: ESPN, McClatchy, the Federalist, Conservative Review, Washington Monthly, Twitchy, Gateway Pundit and Conservative Treehouse.
Please note that outlets on left and right sometimes publish material that’s on the opposite side of the political spectrum, or that has no political leaning at all. The placement is based on perceived overall tone and audience. Position on the chart doesn’t necessarily imply credibility or lack thereof. Sources on far right and far left have, in many instances, produced excellent, factually correct information at times.
I have loosely placed more traditional information sources in the top half of the chart working down toward aggregators, fact-checkers, opinion sites and less news-related sources. (This posed some position challenges since most of traditional information sources are left-leaning.) I did not attempt to place individual programs or broadcasts.
Compiling such a chart is obviously difficult for many reasons, some of them having to do with space. The spacing should be considered relative and not an indicator of absolute position. A number of the information sources technically belong on top of one another.
You have contributed terrific ideas, such as sizing boxes based on audience, and dividing into quadrants. This is a work in progress. Thanks for your input!
Think a source should be moved? Want one added? Leave a comment!
Last night on one of the broadcast channel news, they said that Canada was excluded from the US-Mexico trade talks. Of course, pajama boy Trudeau chose to not participate and has already sent a trade rep to get back in the action.
I have no bad things to say about inviting an old friend to a funeral. We all have that crazy uncle or fellow worker that might think UFOs are real angels or other notions, still talk about the good old days when the negro stewards scored best in anti aircraft gun practice on the Arizona, ( often true in a segregated Navy ) or think women should be barefoot and pregnant. ( hasn't had one put up with him since 1983, but by golly, he knows! )
Or maybe you are the crazy uncle. I am. ( rides a big loud motorcycle, goes to comic book movies )
I have no issues with who the family invites.
The Media should be called out for lying about it.
No need to dwell on the crazy uncle's beliefs. No justification for pretending he's not there.
Cropping the photos is for the family to do, later.
So the Media deliberately sabotaged the negotiations with Canada by leaking off the record comments from Pres Trump. And they wonder why they are disliked and mistrusted.
I'm waiting for an Acosta or a Cuomo to announce a leak that Trump is going to bomb Iran, ( the CIA had a officer that decided to stop Bush from invading Iran so he leaked that Bush had asked for a plan. Screw everyone else on the planet, that single guy decided to take power to spite a President ) or find we got warning of a terrorist attack from a source the leak will reveal & get killed, then the attack takes place a day later, in a different mall.
At some point, there is Treason.
"Yeah, 40,000 people died when the bomb went off at the Rose Bowl, but boy did we get Trump! Besides, Football fans are White Cis Male Republicans anyway, no big loss."
Oh boy! A press conference where The Last Pope refuses to answer a question about a serial sexual abuse cover up and his promotion of a Cardinal condemned by the previous one.
And is praised as a hero.
I should take this as a two-fer! Corrupt, biased press, corrupt, lying Pope, a chance to tear down the already threadbare reputations of the stupid and the foolishly evil Liberation Theology corporate take over of The Church.
Pretty much owned by the Kremlin at this point, right?
Even the sexual parts of this could be used to condemn past Church policy to demonize homosexuality in a twisted culture of men forbidden sexual relations with women, because of a literally medieval policy on inheritance of Church property. ( no wives, no legitimate sons, no giving Church property to the kids. Yeah, that was the logic. )
But the many victims of these hypocritical and clinically insane policies deserve better than My self satisfied commentary.
Heck this is just the Obama White House deciding the mantra of the day, without the Skype messages. It would be so boring to go through the Journo-list text messages, because it's just the news of the day being dictated to the parrots.
Of course, the actual membership of the White House daily press feed group is speculative, based on multiple reports on Right Wing Media, and like the Holocaust in Iran, is denied by everyone who it would make look bad.
And to be honest, the source is sketchy. Politico.
This was reported in the year 2010. It was in The Politico. One of the founders of Politico, John Harris, wrote that there was a conference call every morning in 2010, five years ago, at 6:30, seven a.m. There’s a conference call every morning between the Obama chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, and CNN Democrat strategist Paul Begala. He’s been at CNN now… He’s not been an anchor; he’s been an analyst and a strategist.
So you have Rahm Emanuel, Paul Begala, and James Carville. You know who else is on these conference call? Stephanopoulos. Every morning the Obama chief of staff, the first thing he did was have a conference call with all of these Democrat operatives because they’re all buddies. They all trace back to the Clinton administration. Rahm Emanuel, James Carville, Begala, and Stephanopoulos. The purpose was to set the agenda of the day for the media. That’s 2010.
So, what is more likely, just a group of Clinton Buddies calling every single day to relieve old times even though they don't work for the same guy any more? ( or do they ? ) OR It's a conspiracy and not just a total coincidence that every single day every single major news organization that supports the Obama regime uses the exact same language and pimps the exact same thing every day, day after day, year after year?
I figure the truth is a combination of deliberate management, and cheap laziness.
It's not that all the reporters are taking marching orders, it's that a few are, and the rest are too incompetent and blinded to see they are tools. Since they sure are not Journalists that any kid on a High school newspaper would recognize as such.
Keep in mind this is from the news organization that CNN and others have vowed to destroy,( to prevent their own lies from being uncovered. ) and should be treated as a biased, hostile witness.
One telling the truth, unlike NBC or CNN, but openly biased, unlike NBC, or CNN.
Google is an issue that I'm really torn about. It's being tossed around that government might step in and regulate Google. That terrifies me on a number of levels. It's great when your side is in power. Not so much when the other side is in power. Even if the government could somehow manage to ensure true neutrality of the search engine, government regulation virtually never results in a better product. This is especially true of technology. It would be a shame to do that to a very successful company like Google.
Google own success is the problem though. They have been so successful that their very trade marked name has become a verb in the English language. They have been so successful that they are a de facto public utility. To have a public utility that sways it's service to one side of the political spectrum simply shouldn't be tolerated. If they can't play it straight, and there's quite a bit of evidence that they don't, then what are we to do? I really hate being in favor of bad solutions.
I remember when people were being murdered for their Nike shoes.
Is that still a thing? Have they just decided not to report it?
Fashion is passion. The above article is correct, I am not a customer, so why should Nike care what I think? I buy sneakers from the factory next door to Nike, since I perceive cheap products made by cheap labor makes the brand name as interchangeable as the employees.
That's based on years of going through footwear at extremely high speed. 3-4 months, tops, then toss. Knee damage wrecked sneakers. So did walking eight to ten miles a day.
Yes, the high end running gear from Nike was good stuff, but I don't run. And the bulk of their product line is junk at high end prices. So I might as well buy Lands End for a fraction of the cost.
New Balance, OTOH, has quality support throughout their line, and is a bargain. Imho.
Point is, the logo on my shoe means nothing to me. So I'm not the person Nike the Company cares about at all.
So, let them pay an ex quarterback whatever they want. None of my business or damns go to them, anyway.
Levis lost my loyalty when they moved production overseas. The got my anger, by supporting a leftist anti civil rights cause.
So the heck with caring about Nike. Screw Levis management with a rake.
I'm sure they feel that way about me.
Fashion..... Some years ago, big puffy jackets were very popular in certain cultural circles. Year around, which was hilarious. Lots of sweaty young men, getting harassed by the City Police, frequently.
I once asked a young man why he was wearing such stupid clothing for a summer day, in a crowded public venue. ( I have no filter, sometimes ) Mutters of fashion..... "But the fashion is criminals hiding guns, so everyone wearing those coats is announcing that they are illegally armed, or want people to think they are. It's probable cause to be hassled and searched!" Incomprehension ...... "You know the old white guys with fanny packs? You know they are packing, since they went out of style when I was in high school and you were just a gleam in your Daddy's eye, right? You're just a sweaty sign that says, "search me! I'm a criminal wannabe!" A t-shirt with words on it would be cooler, and you can make any statement you want"
Dawning realization filled his eyes..... as two cops in a cruiser parked nearby broke up laughing.
What I find funny is that the US has and has discussed military, economic and political actions against every nation on the planet in order to overthrow a government. EVERY SINGLE ONE. So why is this a big deal. I would also expect that every other nation on the planet has had the same discussions.
Just because you prepare for it, does not mean it will happen. It's just good policy to be prepared.
There's a plan to conquer Canada. Iirc it involves asking nicely, then not doing anything.
The big deal is they hate Trump. They hated Bush, too. He asked about invading Iran while they sent jihadists & weapons against Iraq. Some traitor in the CIA decided he was smarter & leaked the request for information, so you can blame that leaker for at least a thousand US troops & many thousand Iraqi civilians being killed.
The latest "we hate you so much we don't care who dies" is the NY TIMES and Venezuela.
