My 2006 Buell XB12X has been sitting at my dads farm for the last couple of years. Started and ran it every few months and kept a charger on it, but generally I have been toying around with a few other things as of late.
Mainly off-road riding on my '13 KTM 300XC, tons of fun and even though I crash all the time I feel way safer than being on the road.
As for being on the road, I have been cruising around on a 50th anniverssary XSR900 Yamaha (it's fricken' awesome).
I farted around a little bit on the Ulysses and what a great machine! The one thing that you really notice with modern bikes is the brakes. I remember how amazing the brakes on the Uly were back in the day but compared to modern bikes with technology and what not they are lacking. I'm excited to throw a few miles on it before the season ends. Well, just wanted to drop in and say hi. I'm sure as I ride the bike more I'll need to jump on here more than I have needed to the last 4+ years or so. Great seeing Hugh, Rat and a lot of the old names still around. Cheers! |

Man, it sure does... It's super smooth and powerful, quiet, ABS and brakes are amazing, traction control is fantastic... Yes it does ride as good as it looks, and thank you for the compliment |

Looks like Yamaha 33" vs Ulysses 35" seat height. I like the looks of that Yamaha too http://cycle-ergo.com |

I have the Corbin seat on the Uly which has helped with reach a bit. That said I don’t have many miles on the seat and the change in knee angle isn’t for the better. That said it is still more relaxed than the Yamaha. I’m 5’11” with a 32” inseam and don’t really struggle with either though I could barely flat foot the Bell with riding boots on. |

I am ball of the foot on an XT. 31 1/2" inseam. I have always been a sucker for the bumble bee. |

Yeah, I was balls of my feet with tennis shoes on but once I throw a boot on I can usually flat foot the stock seat barely (not comfortably so usually stick to the ball of my foot). The Corbin makes it a lot easier but as I said you sacrifice a more comfy knee angle... really makes you realize how shit the stock footpegs are. I have some jagged pegs I never installed somewhere that I am going to throw on that should help. The bumblebee is sweet, makes me want to take the bag inserts off and paint them yellow so I can have two bumblebee's (plus the black paint I did 8 years ago is pretty beat and could use a touch up anyway). |
