Has anyone out there moved to adjustable pushrods & tubes? Are such even available to for an XB? I've got an 09 Uly with leaky pushrod tubes, and I'd really rather not have to remove the heads to fix the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Stock pushrods. Remove rockerboxes and rockers. Remove pushrods. Cut the tubes and get collapsible tubes. No head removal required, no screwing around with adjustable pushrods. |

I use adjustable push rods on my harley since the heads are shaved. Never had one come loose. Smith Brothers makes them for Harley and are very high quality and prices are reasonable. I'm going to assume the pushrods are the same for a sportster. Saves you from messing with the rockers but will cost you more in parts. If you have to rotate the engine to swap them then pull the rockers, if not then get the adjustable ones. |

Is this even possible on an XB? The pushrod cover is a one piece plastic housing that bolts to the engine case with four socket head screws. Also, at least from looking at the parts book, there is a third hole in between the two lifter holes. Further research may be required. |

Ratbuell, Do you know anyone who has done this? From what I've seen, most collapsible pushrod tubes require a machined billet piece that bolts to the engine case as a base for the collapsible tubes to seal into. Is such a kit available for the Thunderstorm engine? |

I am going to install Zuppers telescoping pushrod covers on 2009 Buell XB12 Scg. Those have channel in the aluminum base to link the third hole in the center between the lifters holes. I am not sure yet if I want to keep solid pushrods or install collapsible pushrods. Anyone knows which collapsible pushrods fit 2009 Buell XB12Scg? |
