Besides the three bearing rear wheel on the 2010 XT's and the right side air scoop comfort kit, what other differences are there, if any? Thanks. (Message edited by buellerxt on August 19, 2018) |

Cosmetic changes: Different decals, frame color, engine color. Mechanical differences: Different fuel pump, front oxygen sensor, large right side scoop/comfort kit. |

The 2010’s came from the factory with the “comfort kit” installed (right side scoop, under seat air duct, and rear exhaust pipe heat shield) and the updated fan logic. They also have an O2 sensor on the front exhaust pipe. The 08 only has a single O2 sensor for the rear cylinder. |

Thanks Froggy. I was editing to include the comfort kit as you were posting. Are the 2010 fuel pumps better? Any improvement with the front oxygen sensor? On another note, do you know of a reliable bike shipping company? Thanks. |

different color and what might be more important more aggressively serrated foot pegs. Although this change came in 2009 model year. Possibly different clutch cable, although I am not sure if this is the diff between 09 and 08 or X and XT... |

Yep the footpegs, also the handlebar has a clutch cable retainer built into it now. 2010 pump switches to the same type used in the 1125s where it allows the ECM to monitor and control pressure. I can't vouch for a shipper though. |

Thanks guys. Does the extra 02 sensor add anything besides complexity? Is the ecm location and protection any better for 2010’s than it was on 2008,s? In other words does it need to be moved on 2010,s to protect it? Thanks. (Message edited by BuellerXT on August 19, 2018) |

I also just remembered that also the headlight is different and doesn't suck as much at night. As for the ECM, it still needs to be protected or relocated. |

I’m not sure about the benefit of the second O2 sensor. I’d guess it allows the fuel mixture to be independently controlled for each cylinder. Otherwise, why would they have added it? |

Yeah front and rear are essentially different engines connected at the hip. Is there a second head temp sensor in the front too? |

In addition to the items listed above: Throttle Body Fuel rail w/ pressure sensor Exhaust valve actuator (final version) starter motor (switch assembly) idler pulley assembly vehicle speed sensor (new sensor for 2010) Trunk pan Turn signals Clutch Hub Top Box mounting bracket Hand/wind deflectors more items, but these are the larger items. The factory parts manual has a section in the back listing all new parts for the 2010 model year. |
