Got new tires on the 1125 last week, Roadmaster II's I think. Took 'em out for a little run today on my favorite twisty route. Twenty miles of uphill and 12 down. Temps hit 102F at the top, 73F back down at the coast. Did get "Hi coolant temp" alarm. Just a joy. | ||

What temperature will set off the alarm? Is this when it starts cutting out a cylinder? I have never seen it go off personally. I have noticed a general rule of thumb for spirited riding with full airflow--about 100 degrees over ambient. And I agree, fresh rubber is sweet! (Message edited by fresnobuell on July 26, 2018) | ||

Another uphill ride into heat today. Indicated coolant temp slowly climbed to 129F, next step was "Hi Temp" alarm. Noted later that when stopped and at idle it went to one cylinder firing when that alarm was on. Will be checking coolant level tomorrow when I'll also be putting new front brake pads on. | ||

Ooops, that should be, and was 229F as upper end before alarm. |
