Joy Reid? I wouldn't know, or care who she was if not for her bigoted scandal, and cover up by MSNBC. Having this in the news is informative though. When your first defense is that she didn't post that crap at all, but it was done much later by a hacker, but that gets disprove beyond a shadow of a doubt, it'a bad. That proves she did in fact author those bigoted things. Now the defense is that she has grown, and changed her positions. What we see her is not someone who has grown to modify their positions, but someone who is willing to tell what ever lie it takes to stay in power. Normally, a person who has matured into a stronger, more thought out position, is very willing to discuss how that transformation came about. It not only shows growth and redemption in that person, but provides an example for others to follow that path of growth and redemption. Reid and MSNBC have denied this path of growth and redemption, until it became the only way out of the corner they had painted themselves into. They are not worthy of being believed at this point in time. Now we see the hole they are digging for themselves just getting deeper and deeper. They have earned our scorn. Cory Feldman literally has to personally walk in front of cameras to get his claims mentioned in passing. I don't know what the cross over is between Democrat politicians, celebrities, and child rape. "Anything that destroys the Family & makes morality a thing to be mocked, so we can indulge our darkest desires" seems to be the path. In a parallel to discussions here on the limits of tolerance right vs. left..... The Right rejects neo-nazis. The Left has no limits. I'm all for freedom, gays are people too, and should live free from fear of being murdered for their sexual orientation. But unless they reject the kiddie rapists, they will be, properly, considered evil. How many in upper management at CNN are child rapists? It's a legitimate question when they cover for pedophiles by refusing to report they've been arrested, or even exist. But let a female school teacher "seduce" a 14 year old boy? Headlines, 24/7. ( I can't be the only one to remember having fantasies about our 9th grade English teacher. Seduction is a loaded term for fulfilling a dream. ) I freely admit my Patriarchal prejudice against the Male teachers seducing 14 year old girls. Unfair, I know. & don't care. | ||

I was in love with my 4th grade teacher. I'd have done her, had she asked, and it would not have been rape. I don't know what it's like being a little girl, but I knew what my pecker was for when I was very young, and I was keenly interested in trying it out. Yes, I know, statutory rape. But I was once a teen age boy, and Hot For Teacher seemed very acceptable to me. I know women have sex drives too, blessings upon them. But I don't have the insight into teen girl's minds & fall back on what I was taught, simply that older authority figures have an unfair advantage, and seduction of children by males is wrong. It wouldn't surprise me that school girls crush on manly teachers. But that is also a Hollywood cliche, and thus suspect in motive. Happy to hear from the women on the subject. | ||

They do crush on male teachers. The whole 'statutory' argument/concept is about maturity, and understanding the consequences for ones actions. Adults are supposed to understand; the youngsters, while they "know what a pecker is for" to quote the above, don't quite fully grasp the potential consequences - both physical and emotional - of putting the device to use. If anything, our current culture - to spin it, not to state personal beliefs - is MORE sexist and MORE oppressive to women by forbidding young women of puberty to have sex with men (older in particular). Think about it. Past generations, past societies, and even current second- and third-world nations, younger women are, quite literally, bred. Not maliciously, but as a natural progression. Older men are attracted to younger women as a genetically-imprinted way to propagate the species. Our society, by forbidding such actions, is contrary to the "natural order of things" insofar as younger, healthy women having babies to ensure the survival of the species. How do you think THAT would go over with the women's lib / statutory rape prosecutor crowd? "You're messing with the course of nature by keeping men from sleeping with girls". The left spins everything so it fits their goals...why not do it back at them? Again - I'm not promoting statutory rape at ALL. Simply spitballing some random thoughts on the concept, in the screwed-up way of today's society where we turn everything inside-out and make something logical seem completely stupid (see the dogpark-equals-rape post in the other thread). Something doesn't have to make sense today, in order for you to be able to gain a platform upon which to argue it. | ||

Given that I had not gone through puberty, and was unable to produce sperm cells, there would have been no possibility of an offspring from such an encounter. The theoretical use of my pecker would have been more responsible then than now. And I'll wager that, regardless of age, I am more responsible with mine than the majority of men. As far as emotional damage is concerned, I'm sure I could have handled the peril. | ||

I had a sexual relationship with 2 women 10 years older than me when I was 16. My adopted mom was LIVID and demanded to know who they were when she found out (not sure who ratted me out). My adopted dad was beaming ear to ear that I nailed two older women. In private anyway. He had to play mad dad in front of mom. I never gave up the names and got grounded for a month for not giving up my "abusers". lol High point in my adolescence and I learned a lot! | ||

Maybe I'm a complete fool but can someone explain this to me... You break the law and go to jail...or are detained...or whatever you want to call it. It doesn't matter if you get busted for drugs, rob a bank, or illegally cross the border. You will be detained and....surprise, surprise separated from your children.
