Edit- Title is supposed to be 10th Anniversary of the 25th Anniversary... damn effing autocorrect. I decided it was time to give the '08 Uly some love on its 10th Anniversary. I tore the tail off and repaired damage incurred by multiple winter battles with mice. I also discovered the magic of Mothers Back to Black and successfully restored all the graying plastic back to a nice shiny deep black luster. I refinished the rusting brackets for the hard bags as well as the muffler. Finished with some Mothers plastic polish on the bodywork and wind screen. As I'm not much on cleaning this bike as it sees a fair amount of off pavement excursions, this is probably the best it's looked in a decade. I figured I'd snap a pic before I muddy it up again.
Funny and sad to think it would have been the 35th Anniversary of Buell Motorcycle Co. this year. (Message edited by Cyclone8u on June 07, 2018) |

Looks great! My Uly is the same year and I feel the same way. Would have loved to see a 35th Anniversary celebration |

Thanks Sparky. It felt good to get it looking almost new again. It felt even better to play hooky from work yesterday and get it out for a ride. I love my M2, but on many of the roads up here, the extra plushness of the Uly just makes the ride that much better. Everything from old abandoned farm roads with no power lines or houses for miles, with pavement in various states of decay. Like this road, here is a nice smooth straight away, seems the worst parts were in the twisties which would have been brutal on the M2.
Then of course there's the unpaved... not even an option on the M2 for any extended periods.

I think you are seeing the kickstand on the other side of the bike. I had to take a double take myself. |

Kickstand. Right after I took the pic, I had to run back out and check it myself! Thanks Tankhead, I'm hoping I can keep it making memories for the foreseeable future. |
