Anyone know of Uly repair facility in South Florida: 2006 Uly cranks but won't start? Thanks. |

I think these days most guys have had to become their own mechanic due to necessity. Not many folks working on these bikes. |

Ontheroad68: Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm learning that I must now expand my old & limited marine outboard engines mechanical skills to motorcycle engines. Seems we're talking between Seattle & Hobe Sound FL and that's pretty cool! Thanks again. |

Pull the spark plugs. Most likely fouled out. If they are wet change them. Most common problem. Only start it if you are going to ride it. Neversieze on the threads. |

Do you hear the fuel pump? |

Does it chuff/cough? or simply nothing? Engine 101, same as anything. Check fuses. Key-on and listen for fuel pump. Pull a plug wire and check for spark to ground while cranking. Pull plugs and read. Spray carb cleaner down the intake while cranking. On these bikes, spray carb cleaner at the intake where it meets the heads, to see if there are leaks. Those few checks should at least tell you what areas to focus on, and dig deeper on, to find the cause. Keep us posted, we're here |

Wow, thanks folks for many & helpful suggestions. Yes, I hear fuel pump & bike cranks, but won't start. I will check plugs & fuses and will look for leaks. I'm in Hobe Sound FL, between Jupiter & Stuart. Thanks again! |

As a last resort Seminole HD near Sanford still has a trained Buell tech. I have no first hand knowledge but I have heard from more than one person that he is decent. YMMV Frank |

Frank: Thanks. I'm no stranger to road trips.I drove to Lakeland to buy desert camo body parts. I'll check out Seminole if other suggestions don't work. Thanks again. |

Frank: I completed Seminole HD online repair request. Hope it works, but at least I will buy their great t-shirt with Seminole warrior on front! |

The bikes are known for the ECU to crack. Maybe wiggle the ECU connectors and see it tries. Also the heat can get to the fuel pumps and destroy the strainer and the strainer can get sucked into the fuel pump. If you run out of options I live across the state in ft. Myers. I know it's a bit of a haul but I work on the bikes at my house as a side gig. |

Dualsportdad: Thanks, I might do that & would expect to pay. I like visiting Fort Myers anyway. |

Let's hope you figure it out before it comes to that. If it does I'm sure you'd have to leave the bike here for a little bit while it gets diagnosed and parts ordered and repaired. I generally like to go over the bike thoroughly to help avoid issues down the road as well. You can message me on here or my email is my screen name on here @gmail.com |

Dualsportdad: Thanks. I will be prepared to leave bike & wait, just as always. I need to arrange trailer if trip becomes necessary. Thanks, again. |

One more alternative. James, a BWB member and Uly owner, works at the Indian dealership on SR528 south of Orlando. They also have a Buell mechanic. Call him for more info. Tell him Frank sent you. work 407 251 5335 |

You're welcome. The wait shouldn't be very long for parts, I have sourced a good amount of hard to find parts at local stores in my area. I have a areoquip store for fuel pump o rings and a Miller bearing store for bearings and seals. Everything else I've had good luck with my local Harley dealership and auto parts stores. One thing I really recommend since you have a 2006 Uly is the throttle body shaft that tootal sells. Mine broke around 28,000 miles with no warning and when it did the bike revved up quick. |

Thank you, Frank & Dualsportdad. I'll check some things right after I start on taxes. This is the best blog I've been on (and the only one)! Everyone's help is much appreciated, but I always knew bikers are good people. |
