I've got a 2006 XB12X with 50k miles, and the 3 bearing rear wheel. It's been in some falls and a front end collision but those problems have been fixed, probably. But, the drive belt is rubbing on the engine block by the front pulley, like its not aligned properly. The engine mounts all look good. The rear wheel bearings all feel smooth, the idler bearing isn't in the best condition but its not bad, the front pulley feels solid and smooth. My last thoughts are the swingarm axle/bolt. while on a rear stand, I slightly unscrewed the bolt, the swingarm moved just slightly, but I could not tell if its bent or broken. is there anyway to check it without completely removing it? And is there any good information on replacing, if need be. thanks in advance |

Well, my rear axle pinch bolt had been missing for a while. Which allowed the swingarm to spread open, causing the wheel to move slightly to the left causing the misalignment. I fixed it by using a ratchet strap around the swingarm tightening it just enough, then tightening the axle pinch bolt. |
